Eagles, Dogs, Tigers try to do deal

Mute point in regards to Ward.
If we kept pick 19,Scott Selwood would be in Tiger colors

Ward will be an absolute star. Not just a star, an absolute star.

Not sure how Selwood vs McMahon has played out for the Tigers but I know from our perspective Ward over McMahon is a massive win for us. This kid will be a huge part of our midfield for 10 years.

McMahon was a terrible trade. What a second pick for a skinny flanker who can't kick???

I don't think your to far off the mark. Except

Seaby > Ray > Schultz when it comes to trade value.

Problem is who ever gets Ray now is getting a bargain thanks to devaluing ever day that goes by.

Exactly..The first 2 want to leave their clubs, thus their value is (effectively) lower. Richmond doesn't have to trade, WCE & WB do, so the effective order has Schulz at the top.

I'm sure Richmond are trying to keep it as a 'straight' player trade Seaby for Schulz and leave 26 out...if WB & WCE want to trade picks, good luck to them.

Reported today that Hansen is off the table, and Carlton are interested in Ray.

Will be an interesting day.

I think Schulz and Ray are pretty even. Both pretty high draft picks who have not come on as well as would be liked, but Jay has played better footy than Ray over the past year, and by a long way! KPP players are also rarer than soft outside midfielders. Plus isn't Ray uncontracted, which would kind of reduce the dogs bargaining power.

In fact the more I write the more obvious it is that Schulz >> Ray when it comes to trade value.

To be fair, I don't think Hansen was ever really "on" the table
Maybe not - could have just been a case of wishful thinking on the part of our recruiting team. We have probably asked the question just about every player over 6 foot 2 on every list in the AFL.

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

Farren Ray wanted to leave the club in search of another victorian club so wouldnt Farren Ray be headed to the Tigers?

Carlton are rumoured to be "interested" in anyone who is capable of wearing footy boots ! The question is, are they interested ENOUGH to offer a trade for him that is acceptable to the Bulldogs ?

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

Don't think so. Richmond want a ruckman.

How tall is Ray?

Hmm...Do you think he could carry Foley on his shoulders at the tap, then have him jump off for the clearance?

3 hours to go, looks like being a 'forced' sale...Sure, they're interested in picking him up for their 6th rounder.
