A state of delusion
AFL Club
Hawthorn
"I thought this actual game (in Sydney) and the one in Melbourne - apart from the one issue everyone knows about - has been played in very, very good spirits," Ponting told Channel 9.

"If you talk to everyone in our dressingroom, and listen to some of the stories told from some of the chit-chats they've had with some of the Indian players on the field, it's all been really good, light-hearted stuff."

Hmm... 2nd test in very, very good spirits?? Is he delusional, just plain dumb or something else?

I agree with you, Harbhajan's racials slur definitely brought the game down, it's a pity that only the Australians were playing in the true spirit of the game.

You know what, you're right. India have been shocking. Ponting should have the guts to acknowledge that.

Ganguly, Yuvraj and Sharma standing their ground after they've been given out (dissent).
Ganguly questioning our players integrity, reneging on a previous gentleman's agreement (maybe he wasn't aware of the agreement Ponting diplomatically stated, deflecting media outrage away from Ganguly)
Racial vilification of an Australian player.
Time wasting and other underhand "don't lose at any cost" tactics (two right handed gloves indeed).

It's very sporting of Ponting to turn a blind eye to these incidents

As if he is going to say "yeah, the spirit of the game was not good and India were the culprits".

Of course he is going to lie and defend his team

can't agree with you more....... Our great nation should forget about all the other crap countries and only play cricket against our traditional rivals. like the great "Ashes and the chapel hadlee".

Its always india that is the trouble makers in the cricket world. Have you ever seen any of our great cricketers get in trouble? never.

I think the ACB should take over the ICC. Make tubs, slats, Heals the board. and the "great Richie" yoda the chairman.

I love your work, mate:D

Are you kidding?

This series has been played in better spirits than the bi-annual Bridge game between the Oxford Ladies Club and the Happy Do-Gooders from Old Brent Town!

Dissent towards the umpires, unabated sledging, alleged racist remarks, intentional slow over-rates, play-to-win-at-all-costs mentality...

If this series hasn't been played within the highest spirits of the game, then we need to seriously reconsider exactly what the word 'spirit' means...

Don't forget the bloke who turned up to a match for Australia once whilst still under the influence.

What was his name, again?

WTF is wrong with a win-at-all-costs attitude? How on earth is there anything wrong with that?
