The East Side Hawks have a proud tradition of strong forwards that have paraded themselves through the hallowed halls at Waverley, the leading goal kicker medal is named after a man that is no exception to this rule, a dual Alf Andrews Medallist, Tarks is a much heralded hero at Waverley.

The winner of this years Tarkyn_24 Medal also collects the Alf Andrews Medal as the leading goalkicker in the Sweet FA, his season was as dominant a season as a forward could put together in the Sweet FA, he booted 86 goals for the regular season, a massive 15 goals clear of his nearest rival.

The Dragons were next on the list when it came to the Hawks run toward the finals, despite all of the work put in by MD, the match thread will be remembered for the war of words between Tarks and sacked former figurehead boncer34, then some poor taste directed at Chezz…



The game itself saw the Dragons kick out to an early lead, booting 6 opening quarter goals to 3 as It looked as though the Hawks players were still stunned after the week before. The Hawks managed to close the gap slightly in the 2nd term, going into half time 11 points down and a little more settled.

A 9 goal 3rd term from the Hawks set the game up as we went into 3 quarter time with a 37 point and surely this week, unassailable lead. But the Dragons came again, 7 goals 5 to 3 goals for the quarter ensured some nerves in the Hawks camp, before we run out winners by 8 points.

So, to summarise: you're f##ked.

A terrible game build up thread, many pages of the Royals complaining about one thing or another and following up with the “you’re shit at banter” rubbish, a forgettable build up.



The game wasn’t much better, in a nonevent, the Hawks led from start to finish to run out comfortable 37 point winners against a hapless opponent.

Round 6 Vs The Roys @ Waverley Park

Well at least the signwriters got it right this week and it is Waverley Park, rather than an Oval.

We're still gonna crush em, though. Hawks by a millionlots. And yes, that is a number.

No.. No.. The East Side Hawks Reserves was our back up side due to the successful numbers swirling around the Hawks at the time, we fobbed them off to the less fortunate when

boncer34 said we were just being awesome and greedy again.

The Royboys have come to town I see. Will be nice to have some resistance this week, but an easy win to the Hawks should still ensue, solidifying our top two ladder position. (Someone's got to send the Roys back down the ladder anyway!!!!)

Another quality match thread with the Roys, excellent banter and lots of laughs in the build up, extractasam made his debut, before disappearing into the abyss. Mr Eagle was in fine form, as was larrikin..



The game was a tight affair early, with the Hawks kicking out to a 5 point lead at quarter time before trailing by 5 at the half. After half time though, the Hawks found some groove, getting the lead back by 3 points at 3 quarter time before kicking away in the final term to record a comfortable 26 point victory.

The Biggie Medal

The East Side Hawks have produced some of the greatest young players to come through the ranks of the Sweet FA and this season was no exception, the club had the highest number of first year players in several seasons this year, those included Ashton Agar NetworkNerd and Bryce_Jersey17

The winner of this years Biggie Medal as the best first year player for the East Side Hawks was a consistent and exceptional performer throughout the season, contributing to most match threads and doing so with class and humour.

/Swamprats suuuuuuuuuuuck.

A tough match thread to bare, at least until Dagless sucked in the entire Swamprats community with his labeling of the “West Lakes”, there were many a meltdown to behold and enjoy following that.



The game itself was a hard fought affair, the Swampies got off to a strong start with 3 opening quarter goals to 1 and never really looked back, managing to keep the Hawks at bay all day to record an 18 point victory.

We were a bit wayward coming out of the backline, plus I couldn't take a mark in a German bank.

Will not continue the barehands bacon pregame ritual.

A refreshing change after a Swamprats match thread, being able to watch Dagless light up the early pages was a real pleasure and his exchanges with WGS were hilarious, was also great to watch two young guns in BB & Karney go at it for a while.



This was a big game for both sides as highlighted early on in the thread, the Hawks burst out of the gates early and looked to gain control of the contest, gaining a 4 goal lead at half time. The Hawks were able to continue to maintain their lead in the third quarter, with Tarks on top up forward and the midfield dominating. The last quarter saw the Wonders try to make a run at the Hawks, but they were only able to bridge the gap by a goal as the Hawks run out 19 point winners.

You sir, do not deserve such an avatar. There is only one Ron in the Sweet FA and he does not play for the Demons!!!

Interesting match build up that included a word association game of types, but some excellent banter with the Demons who were surprisingly great to banter with this season.



The game was a disappointing one for the Hawks, by half time, the Demons had completely outplayed us all over the ground and taken a 4 goal lead into half time, despite a mini fight back in the 3rd quarter, the Hawks were unable to maintain that intensity and dropped to a disappointing 23 point loss.

This season has seen the continued emergence of many fine contributors to the club including Dagless who made sure IMS named the team right and stepped up to cover as well as promoting games to other players, this duty was also performed by Mr Eagle at times, TRAWP started the year strongly, bringing in many excellent recruits to the Hawks.

The winner of this years boncer34 Medal, the best clubman award, goes to a contributor that went a little quiet through the middle stages of the year, but did some fantastic work in keeping the post stats were kept up to date, and was a pillar of strength and support to teammates in the match threads.

Wow, that's an honour! Am I meant to make some speech or something? It took enough thought to compose that PM!

I'm genuinely stoked to win the bonce award for S16 (not S15 IMS!!! ), recognition as Clubman OTY in a great year for the club is a pretty great award and paired with a spot in the leadership group hopefully I can move on to bigger and greater things along with keeping the stats up-to-date. Is that good enough? I just want to watch the B&F count! A high finishing position in that would round out an overall great awards night, although at this rate I might need someone to carry my trophies out in a wheelbarrow.
