I think we need to keep one of Steinberg or Pears.

If we draft Francis, do we see him being able to hold down the 3rd tall spot in defence over Gwilt? Or is he more of a flanker?

More of a flanker if you asked me, wouldn't immediately go into that role if he could play it anyway.

He's a great kick, one of the best in the draft, so you'd want to use that to the teams advantage

Yeah, same.. Pears can stay on for his spot for 1 year.. we have gwilt too. No need to upgrade stein- he's not going to make it.
I'd be happy to get rid of both tbh, grab Hartley and a DFA Key Defender, Bourke and Giles are the two this year.

We'd have to be sure we'd be able to get hartley with a really late pick. Can't see him making it that far.

I don't rate pears anymore, but we do need to have another option if an injury occurs.

Would have been rated higher if had simply played more, you never know, could have matched Schache.

You're basically drafting him on the back of two games, although it does help that they were against AFL listed players and he acquitted himself very well
It's very hard to rate him without seeing him hit full fitness. Has shown some very promising glimpses though.

Taking into account that Kennedy, Hopper, Mills, Hipwood, Keays and possibly Himmelberg as academy picks that pick will go down possibly as low as 45. I reckon we're a chance for him.

Who are some of the players that could finish up next year on the list still?

Obrien, Kavanagh, Hams, Pears, Dempsey, Stanton, Steinberg, A.Browne, Gwilt, Cooney

Next years draft crop is being pumped up a bit but we still have too many guys that could be leaving next year. Sure ive maybe missed someone aswell.

Dont want to be taking too many picks into the 1 draft.

We should cut 1 more this year probably a 3rd tall defender either Pears or Steiny. Good chance another one is available at 57 which becomes likely a late 40s pick.

ill be happy with either of the mature agers in Hartley, Brown or S.Yarran at 57. They all auit a need for us aswell.

He is only 196cm. Most of the agile tall forwards are around that size, eg Kennedy (198cm) Jenkins(198) Petrie(197) Ben Brown(200) Waite(194)Roughead(193) Gunston (193) Franklin(198) etc
Even some midfielders aren't far off that.

Mckernan is a forward not a ruckmen imo. So has to play, considering our needs.
The question is do we play both Leuy and Belly.
Mckernan and Daniher the backup rucks. Mainly Mckernan for me next year. Mckernans not as agile or defensivily as good as Kennedy, Rough, Gunston, Buddy, Waite types you just named.

it will be interesting to see how he goes as a forward next year

Delist Hams, Pears and Steiny. Like with any drafts, there will be gems available late. Tyrone Leonardis, David Cunningham, Jesse Glass-McCasker, Dylan Smith, Jordan Dawson and Cameron Hewett are a few of those who I like later in the draft.

I'd like to take J.Grant as a DFA. I know others aren't so keen.

I hope Moore is avoided.
There are better options. Giles and Bourke are two I like.

I'm actually warming to taking a Skinner type with pick 25. I keep on looking at our list balance and what I want to have a Hartley type as well as a young KPD. Skinner fills that.

Thought it was weird that Bourke got dumped. Could have been a handy KPD for them. Spose though with Clarke, Merrett, Andrews, Mcstay & Hipwood coming in they felt they had enough coverage.

Interested to hear whether the club looks at him.

I just hope Dodoro etc are having a good look at DFAs. If they consider any worthy, I'd love to see a couple of extra delistings and see what's DFAs can do on 1 year contracts.

Milera looks great on highlights vid. Look forward to ant555's comments.

From watching vids and reading comments I'm thinking prioritising 4 and 5 like this (presuming Weitering and Scache gone):
1. Francis 2. Milera 3. Parish 4. Curnow

I've been hunting through looking for vids, could only find any of Francis. Can you direct me to others?

Just type in Wayne Milera AFL youtube should be a video by The Skiller a renowned South Australian u18 watcher.

You will see a highly polished kid, proven on the big stage and against men, elite kicking, very good decision making, great by hand and foot, has a 14+ beep test endurance, inside/outside game, strong through the hips, balanced, agile player. I think we have to take him at 4. Wouldve loved to have seen him outside of those highlights but they are enough to show me what type of player he is.

Think a mix of Lovett, Motlop, Yarran

With bird Dempsey and stants on board for 2016 kav, Browne hams and maybe NOB are in trouble imo Stein is too short and not up to AFL standard and Pears will get 1 year will resign soon. NOB maybe gets another year. So that's at least another 4 delistings this week.

NOB has to be rewarded with at least a year after his AFL work this year. With the going on aome of our elder/bigger stronger midfield bodies in Melksham, Stanton, Goddard, Watson, Hocking, Howlett in the next few years at worse we will need some backup and he could play a big body role of finding the pill and feeding it out to better users.

I thought hed already been offered a new contract so surprised he hasnt yet. He needs to be rewarded before those others.
