They tried to blow the siren for just after the last Vic kick which went across goal and was marked so decided to make that the last moment. It's fine that they play light hearted but now it's just the globetrotters without the humour or skill. Waste of time. Probably good if you are 7 - 11 but don't know any players.

I guess I'm just meant to lighten up and be smiling like the players but yawn.

I'm a Vic but you're right. There is less humour, less skill and even less seriousness than the other not so serious years. At least have 1 of those 3 things to make it worth watching.

I know it's for a good cause & all, but it would be better if both teams went all out instead of clowning around (as well as regular rules being applied for example quarters end when siren sounds), pretty much the AFL'a version of the Globetrotters v Generals, rigged. Glad I didn't watch a second of this game

The only serious incident happened when akermanis played and they said they were gonna fix him up and they did. He chucked the shits and don't think he will ever be back.
Best part of it was it was his former teammate Chris Johnson that got him, and even better it was a solid tackle that he attempted to run through - sucks to be Aka, lmfao :)

This game was at its best in the early-mid 2000s. Actual legends of the game, not just mediocre recent retirees (Matt Spangher, really?), having a bit of fun but also having a good dip and showing off what made them legends in the first place. Towards the end of the 2000s and into the 2010s is when they started stacking the teams with "celebrities" and manufacturing finishes and certain events in-game to add "theatre", and its gone downhill fast.

I know at the end of the day its just an event to raise awareness for prostate cancer, and for that it gets enough airtime to do its job. But if you're going to do it, then do it right and make it something people actually want to watch.

Either get proper legends and play it somewhat seriously, or go full silliness with the comedians/non footballers. Either way is better than this boring middle ground it's in right now where a bunch of recent retirees let each other kick 25 goals to set up a manufactured end.

Hopefully they take away Matera next year. He didn't understand the point of the game to have a bit of fun. Was playing so selfish and looking up at himself on the screen after every goal.

Who's less funny;

Lehmo or Hughesy?
Molloy is the answer.....

actually, no, it's Hughesy.

There's a few "comedians" who i wonder how they ever got to be mainstream.

Hughes, Helliar. Never found these two funny. Ever.
Lehmo. Lehmo does play a reasonable role on Utopia however.
Molloy (works well when bouncing off others, but terrible when he's on his own)
Flanagan (Not funny.)
