Do you know what they do after the match?
Would you have the figures on how many watched the game, just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean everybody didn't like it.
Why are the AFL and Gil getting blamed for the game last night? They wouldn't have any say in how the EJ game is run, it would be the charity and 7 who should be getting the blame.

when did they decide to play the match at swan st? was it scheduled at the time the fixture came out or did the AFL or C7 notice the NRL hadn't fixtured Melbourne Storm there and decided to use the venue?
Was most watched show in Victoria last night (did less well in SA & WA) so won't be disappearing any time soon.
Why was it moved to AAMI park. Compared to Marvel it’s a pain to get to.

Yep but at least in previous years they actually played on a AFL sized venue and there was some defending and genuine effort involved. Hell 2017 had full 20 minute quarters. Granted last year was a horrible spectacle which is probably why they changed it up so much for this year's edition.

Continuing 24 hours later with another weak argument, this time about AFLW? Jeezus.
Personally I feel like there is no value in it for adults, it's never been a sporting contest. Its good for kids.
If they wanted to get adults engaged they'd be better off doing some state league State of Origin, grab all the best players from the VFL, WAFL, SANFL, etc. and have them play in a a charity match honoring Whitten.

How is a 600m walk from Richmond station to AAMI Park anymore of a pain to get to than a 600m walk from Southern Cross station to Marvel stadium??
But in reality— it’s most likely that Marvel Stadium may’ve been concerned about the quality of the grass and the effort it would take to return the ground to AFL after the basketball last Saturday

I wouldn't mind that at all however the majority of the crowd/viewers are there for the laughs and former players. Don't think they care about the centre half-back from Peel Thunder representing the WAFL. Perhaps a curtain raiser?
Could we combine a good footy contest like state level SoO with other events on the night to have the best of both worlds? Just spitballing ideas but the format used Friday night didn't seem to appeal to anyone.

If AAMI is out of the way, the MCG and Rod Laver are out of the way.
Compared to the MCG, AAMI's a bit closer if you're coming from Richmond station and a bit further if you're coming from Jolimont or the other side of the city. Still an easy walk from Flinders Street if that's where you're coming from and the 70 tram drops you on the doorstep. It's hardly Homebush.
