Shootout goals. Power player goals. Super goals. Goals. No Mega player goals? I am disappointed now.

Just checked the Wikipedia page on the game and it was still getting 25k crowds as recently as 3-4 years ago.If they're going to have this pre-finals week off surely they could do something better with it. Don't see why the Brownlow can't be moved to this night or weekend.
Watched for about 5 minutes, it was literally just kick to kick. It was the perfect example of how high scoring doesn't automatically equal entertainment. It would be better as that touch footy version of afl for old people with more celebrities if they were at least legitimately trying.
This is the key. It worked well as a Tuesday/Wednesday night game on Ch 9 as a bit of light humor. And it used to be promoted on The Footy Show for several weeks in advance. Fans want serious sport on a Friday night.Ever since Ch 7 took over the broadcast it seems to have fallen apart. Don't think giving it this slot instead of its midweek midyear spot works in its favour.
Couldn't do it, BT's voice put me off way too much! What a wank,
It is. I don't know why you did it.High scoring doesn't have to mean uncontested. This is such a stupid way to counter argue
Watched 10 minutes of people just running and kicking freely end to end.. no tackling.. nothing... wondered what I was watching and turned it off. i could go down to the local oval myself tomorrow and do exactly what they did, alone.
The only way to save this, is to make huge changes.. but for the good. They obviously tried to copy the NBA All Star games getting teams to score 300 points each. How about using this weekend to make it an All Star weekend. But actually have interesting AFL related stuff going on. Have a series of competitions = goal kicking, handballing, running, etc. Play a few games, telecast live on TV... maybe a 'draft' game, with all the top 50 players in the upcoming draft invited for an exhibition game, and then on day 2 have a state of origin, but rather than use AFL players.. how about using the best players around the country not on an AFL list.. give these guys some exposure. And maybe they will play properly and with some passion for their state..
If it saved a life, then it did it's job, remember this is a charity match.
This game reminds me of watching wrestling. We loved watching it as kids but as we’ve got older, we’ve become more cynical. The game tonight is a bit of fun and kids, who it’s aimed it, they love it. That’s all that matter.

What does 'The Louche' even mean?!
Something is better than nothing. Not exactly a rich history in the "charity" part of the event. Only a small percentage in the past was even going to the foundation. It is ok to say the product is rubbish even if it is for a good cause. If the product is better surely that is better for the charity side of it as well if it returns better patronage.
