Reference for any Richmond supporters complaining. Pickett takes it from outside the square and rushes it. Richmond take it coast to coast from kick in and Riewoldt scores a goal. 11 point swing.
Jeez that makes it worse, no one was tackling him and his first decision when outside the square was to go within 9m then rush the behind. Should be a clear deliberate imo.

Was just listening to SEN in the car and it really demonstrated how bad the AFL are at explaining things and how little journos and commentators understand things. Nearly 24 hours late and they are still clueless on the ARC process and still making completely inaccurate statements. They just have no idea how it works and clearly have no idea about how synced cameras can show the position of the ball

Gee you have done virtually nothing but watch the game all day, well done. I watched it once and the last 2 minutes half a dozen times.
Sick at the moment and it was the greatest games i have ever seen with so so many lead changers ,since the Fitzroy micky conlon’s goal against essendon in the finals many many years ago in the wet at waverly park. I was there but at the other end. Simply superb game.still cannot believe it.

One thing definitely noticeable was that we didn't have three talls falling over each other and spoiling each other's marks. Having McStay in the ruck allowed Hippy and Daniher to be more organised for marks.
The McStay in the ruck was almost like a Moneyball play - 'maybe we don't need to contest the ruck, just know what Nank will do with it'

On SEN early hours this morning (I hardly slept) The host said the AFL had released a statement at midnight to say that the goal review was correct from the vision they have seen.....and that the release at that hour was unprecented but necessary due to the controversy...

...however, not sure if that is right as haven't heard it mentioned at all today during all the hoohaa over the POINT!!

It was a point peoples, get over it.......WE, the LIONS WON!:tongueoutv1:

That came out today just lost in the whinging.

Whinging by the LOSERS

“Despite some speculation today, the AFL doesn’t take in the emotional response of a player whether he pumps his fist or not. Only if both people in that ARC believe there’s definitive evidence that it’s overturned – and it was to a behind from a goal last night"

That's from jon Ralph on Fox Sports.

You reckon all reporters enjoy making tom Browne look incompetent, or just most of them

All morning on SEN.......ARC this, ARC that

All the *ARCing morning long

Then in the lead up to the Melb/Swans game they are still crapping on about it.

Dermott comes out with:-

"The decision got made by "the person who shouldn't have been allowed to make it "( that is, the ARC guy)

Just WTF???

The Goal Umpire guessed a goal

Either he(or the Field ump) wasn't totally convinced so they called for a review.

So the logical outcome is for the ARC guy to make a ruling ....and he did....a point.

Most of the commentators (including Derm) seem to be of the opinion that the Goal Umpire made an error in calling it a goal but are getting all hung up on the "process'" being "wrong"

The lack of analytical logic is astounding.

The clear inference from all of them is that "Richmond wuz robbed by the "process" rather than justice being served by the correct decision being made

How much indignation would there have been by the Melbourne media if the Lions had been "robbed" by the boot being on the other foot?

Like the blatant home town umpiring calls at Geelong the last couple of years that robbed us of a certain win with firstly the disgraceful non free to Zac last season and then the blatant huge shove on HA by Hawkins that iced the game for the Cats when the game was still in the balance

Where was the outrage when Linc kicked the goal in Round 20 that would have given us the lead back against Richmond, only for it to be taken off him by that bizarre "goal umpire's call is touched.....goal review.........nup....clearly a goal .....but I'm now going to give a free kick to Richmond anyway" decision???????????

Piss off meedja.

We got one our way for a change so suck it up princesses

ARC didn't cost Richmond the game; Richmond cost themselves the game. They were 4 points up with 2 minutes to go after that incident and then 6 defenders failed to defend Joe in the goalsquare with 1 minute to go and they lose it.

I love that shot of Joe and the sesame Street count counting the Richmond players.

Someone braver than me needs to post that on the Richmond board.

Dunstall asking Bailey what he thought about the goal review.
Get *ed, you bald campaigner.
Can’t work out if I like Riewoldt or think he’s a massive flog
Try harder! (
Melbourne media reporting that Anthony Rocca was seen counselling Lynch after being ‘denied’ a goal in a big final🤣
Yeah but Rocca tried to pretend he kicked a goal - still does - whereas Lynch wasn't as prepared for the performance. Riewoldt would have celebrated before he kicked just to be certain

I absolutely love the fact that not only did we steal one of the greatest wins in Finals History on Thursday night, but that in every highlights package #TheSupporterInTheLionsMask features in this historic moment. CLASSIC ON EVERY LEVEL!
