We were warned that they were cracking down on it, even abuse from people sitting on the bench. It was brought up by the umpires at the league meeting and all clubs were informed

Anyway, I want to ask around what is goin on with the umpiring and them paying 50m penalties like their nothing. The games I have watched at the goon, 50's have been paid far too often. I just don't remember it being this bad...last weekend I reckon there were 10-15 penalties, all for 'verbal abuse' apparently. Hope it's not like this in the finals. It will cost a team a flag...

The penalties weren't so much for verbals but hand gestures. The two 50's were both awarded against blokes asking what for or sorry I didn't do it intentionally but they both used their hands in an asking way not an intimidating manner. The umpires have been told to crack down on hand gestures. I don't think it's been explained to them the difference between aggressive gestures and asking gestures.

Agree with Piezy. They're struggling through an injury ridden second half of the season. They're still having a crack with what they've got and good on them.

Who knows; The coach might have set some goals for them to aim at like limiting how many goals they were going to be outscored each quarter by. Who knows.

Bunyip are a good team who were obviously playing against a weary bunch of players still having a go.

Yeah, hand gestures, bloody hell. The underlying problem is the lack of umpires. It must be tough to find them. Hopefully the league can invest next year on a marketing campaign to get some in? Could increasing the pay work? ex players would obviously be ideal...I've heard in theEastern League, they are pushing for female umpires. In a reserves game, all umpires on the ground were female. All did a great job also. Maybe that could be an avenue?

Good win by stars, shame next week isn't at Cora Lynn which was back in great condition and is the home of grand final footy.warragul is okay surface but with a big crowd you can't see a thing if your not in the front row and standing in front of the gutter.

Cora Lynn is a great ground but a pain in the arse to get to and from. Any where along the train line is good but I like the fact it's at Warragul because it's about 600m from my house haha.

Three way tie in the League Best and Fairest between Brendan Kimber, Andy Soumalis and Daniel Barrand. Kimber and Soumalis no surprise but there can't have been too many League B & F winners from a side that only has 1 win for the season!

Axe man do you know how La Rosa keeps getting so many League votes? When I was at Dusties he got runners up in the league and about 7th in the club. There is a few players I would rate higher then him in the Dusties team still, must be his taped shoulders and a flashy play every now and then. Shane Brewster is still one of the best I've seen in local footy but doesn't seem to get the votes. I'm sure that happens at every club though. Was good to see Kody Wilson poll a few!! Great kid!

Where does he live?

I heard an Ellinbank club might be close to signing Marc Holt from Cranbourne next year, not sure of the club though, anyone heard that?
Garfields chasing a couple from casey cardinia, not sure of names yet, also look like picking up a good mid from balwyn who has moved to the district.

Travis Marsham to coach Coralyn next season.
Previously coached Gembrook & was Aussie Jones right hand man when Aussie coached back to back flags at Narre Warren & when in charge at Gippsland Power.

Yep that's him, played Juniors at Narre, followed is brothers foots steps & joined the police force & was stationed in the valley, had a stint at Morwell then coached Ellinbank from there.
Not sure if still a copper.
Still is a copper worked at the academy now acting inspector I think, not long had child number 4.Will bring players from Gembrook as they have drop to div2 and most players don't like the travel (yea) or the standard of the comp.Div1 good to watch.

they wont get holt brothers,as if there gonna pay him the $$$ that they were on at cranbourne, they were struggling to pay players at end of the season just gone

bunyip fc is also looking at trying to get allan chandler or ricky clark who plays for gembrook as coach of bunyip football club as callum pattie stepped down as coach at the end of the season

Ricky Clarke is joining Marsham at Coralyn, Clarke played under Marsham when he was coach of Hembrook then handed the reins to Clarke, few more from Gembrook will follow.
