Dan obviously had an interrupted pre season and hasn't been in career best form as is probably expected.... has gone back to get a couple full games under his belt and hopefully come back in the next few wks bigger and better for a tilt at the finals.

i've heard the same nana. Donno restless, Ben Hughes gone along with a couple of others. I've heard Toner has lost the plot to be perfectly blunt about it. I wouldn't be suprised to here "Abandon Ship" come the end of the year and see the cobras suffer the same fete as Nyora have this year.

Ben Hughes has gone back to south belgrave where he came from after 2007, he wasn't happy about playing 2's so figures he'll go back to sth Belgrave to play with his close mates. The only other one we have 'lost' is Tim Miller who came across from Koo Wee Rup played 2 games didn't get named one week when we had 5 players miss out in the 2's so he went back to Koo Wee where he will get a regular game. His brother Shannon has sucked it up and is slowwly improving and has almost cemented his spot. 'Toner has lost the plot' is a ridiculous thing to say. The ones are sitting 2nd on the ladder without having reached top gear once this season and the twos are 2nd as well. We have been playing the young kids in the ones at different stages this season ie Helsby, Foreman, Venville. Players like nicholls, O'Hara, Allen, Dowsett have all had runs in the twos this year, that says that there is a strong culture of perform or your out mentality which can only be a good thing. O'Hara is probably struggling for pace at the moment so is working quite hard at training to get that back. All is well at Cobra land

You haven't convinced me Beljak. They may well still be talented enough to get through this season, but from what i can tell it's almost a given that Toner will be gone at seasons end and so will the majority of current paid players. All is not well at Cobraland.

Doesn't really matter if you are convinced or not. You may be right that Toner may be gone at the end of the season. But for your post to say that Toner had lost the plot was utterly ridiculous. Even if toner does go and takes the majority of paid players with him, which is unlikely, do you not think that there would be plenty of other coaches who would love to coach a club that is finacially secure and has the resources to maintain a competitive edge year after year. It seems strange that the people bringing up so called rumours are Nar Nar Goon people. Is it a case of tall poppy syndrome and if it is watch out Darnum people you may well be next.

I'm not sure of Stanley's motives but I was just trying to get to the bottom of something that I had been told. Beljak, you responded and I accepted what you said, end of story.

Not trying to cut down any 'tall poppies' at all but I must admit that with Cora Lynn being one of the teams we'd have to get past if we are to be successful, I wouldn't mind if it had been true.

Nana wasn't having a go at you, I responded to your earlier post and you accepted it and moved on, unlike others.

You are wrong Plugger. No one gives a shit about Darnum. This year is just an aberration. Enjoy it because sooner rather that later your basket case club will be back down the bottom pushing up daisies where they belong.

Is it true about Mark Johson former esendon and fremantle player??? Any one care to elaborate on this rumour

Nah nah nah, Beljak.

"You guys" were next. We already have it happen to us on a regular basis. It just hasnt happened for a while.

Cue: all Darnum bashers get in line and begin your chorus......

Pluggeroo, was not having a go at anyone with my post, I was just pointing out that it seems to be a regular occurence in this forum to start ridiculous rumours to bring down the good teams. I was just pointing out the fact that once they have finished with Cora Lynn they will move onto Darnum, because unfortunately for you guys, you are very easy targets. I admire the balls your club has got for putting itself out there, spending more money than the GDP of some African countries to get yourself a premiership. If it works this year, fantastic, if it doesn't it will be very interesting whether the current level of spending is sustainable. I remember when Cora Lynn first joined the league, we were told not to worry too much about changing our jumpers, because most league officials didn't think you guys were going to survive. That's why we wore those awful jumpers for 5 years!!!

was waiting for that!

wasnt at training tonight, so i cant elbaorate any further but its pretty exciting news.

probably one of the best afl footballers that would be perfectly suited to and enjoy playing country football, because of his aggression and hardness.

it is exciting

Whatever Beljak, i guess time will tell.

Anyway on a lighter note, really looking forward to tomorrows game between Goon and Catani. The two's should also be a cracker. NNG apparently have there strongest side in for the year so no excuses, especially being at home and on a dry track. I think the ones should be too quick on the big ground and the two's will give the league leaders a big run for there money as well, with some quality players dropping back from the seniors. What are peoples thoughts?

I went with you guys in the tipping comp. Goon haven't won a big game for a while (last years finals and losses CL, ND and WI this year means you have lost your last 5 big games.) I reckon the Goon boys will be pretty keep to show they can match it with the top 4 teams in big games. Having already lost to the other three I reckon they might win this one in a close one.

I heard the two VFL boys, Dore and Oldmeadow may be back for this game because of the VFL bye?

What will the two boys that missed out and have to play twos think? Being dropped for blokes who will only play this game and arent going to be around come September?

Catch22 really, you play them to improve chances of winning this week knowing you wont see them again and upset a few, against not playing them which could be the difference between winning and losing in a very important game.

Sounds like Goon have everything going for them this week! Hopefully the good weather has their ground in top shape!

Na not the case Lucifer, we couldn't do it to you two years running! Andy has already had opportunities to play with NNG this year and hasn't played and wont be tomorrow. And big Dorey is committed to Frankston, he'll be there but on the other side of the fence.

If they were to play, the boys wouldn't have the slightest problem with it. They are NNG boys through and through.
