Is it? I always thought the traditional (ie not MAGA) right-wing belief in small government argued that providing for the less well-off was the role of charity, not government.I mean, that's kind of the point: republicans haven't believed in the virtue of charity for a very long time. It's a tax writeoff for them, not a means by which they enrich the society around them.
This is behaviour long encouraged and abetted by the system they live in. If you're only noticing it now, you've been living in a dream world for a while.

"Free speech absolutist"i posted a K-hole gif on a Elon tweet and within seconds got a bot warning, and had to verify my email. Same with a replied to a trump post, got a limited visibility notification
last sentence -I cringe whenever I read headlines of celebrities (or other rich folk) donating to causes, disaster relief or otherwise. To me, such donations should be made because you want to donate, not because you want to be slapped on the back for being so generous. Particularly when the amounts they donate are equivalent to finding the loose change that has fallen behind the sofa cushions.
So maybe Musk and Zuckerberg have made generous donations but just not bragged about them?*
*No, I do not think this is likely the case.
But ever since the Rockerfellers and Vanderbilts - which is a bloody long time ago now - the wealthy used charitable causes for things other than altruism or charity. One takes leave to question precisely how charitable you're being when on one hand you break unions and viciously apply scientific management wmin your factories and use your wealth to purchase political clout and on the other give significant amounts in charity that you can then recoup as a tax expense. Is it? I always thought the traditional (ie not MAGA) right-wing belief in small government argued that providing for the less well-off was the role of charity, not government.
Of course, that encompasses a form of power - the needy have to rely on the largesse of the more fortunate.
This guy really paid other actual gamers to play on his POE 2 account and pretended he is good at the game? The guy is peak loser
----------
Chucking another tanty over being exposed as cheating in a video game.
Does Musk actually think this is a “gotcha” moment?
It’s funny because if he just owned the fact he brought a boosted account or paid someone to boost it for him no one would of given the slighted ****
But the fact that he keeps trying to double down on the lies and go scorched earth on the people calling him out just highlights what a petulant loser he really is
That goes to show if you prove to be very dishonest and a cheater, you'll rarely change your spots.
Elon also pretends to be best in the world at video games, instead he cheats and buys accounts that make him look good, but anyone with half a brain know he's cheating, and in effect it does the opposite of what Elon intended.
It makes sense he and Trump get along
It’s crazy the egos these people have (Trump and Musk) its as if despite being financially successful (plenty of questions about how much of their wealth they actually earned but that’s besides the point) the stories are similar to the shit that Kim Jong Un lies aboutI said this in the Trump thread last week
So now Asmongold's followers all think Elon's a fool, and the curtain has come down.
Some of the comments make me laugh like "this is Elon's Stalingrad."
Ironic when you think about it.
RWNJs comparing him to Hitler as a slander, then his POE2 account on permadeath dies with his IP address in China, while he's was live face to face with a Neo-Nazi party in Germany on X.
He lied about being one of the best players in Diabolo 4
He lied about being one of the best quake players in the world
He lied about being good at Overwatch
He lied about how he received his break in the US
He lied about his contribution to PayPal, Tesla and SpaceX.
He lied about his contribution to OpenAI and now he's salty and trying to sue them. Meanwhile his companies have been propped up by billions of government funding, with no short term benefit to humanity, and no long term guarantee that they will either. All they have done is make him more wealthy.
The question needs to be asked, is Elon Musk they greatest conman in the history of the world?
If you ask me, I'd say yes.
The moment he tweeted that "Covid is stupid" back in 2020 showed what uneducated shill he was. Only caring about Tesla losing production values, rather than the tens of millions of people dying from a virus, he played his card completely wrong in that instance.
Of course there are still people who believe Covid is stupid, vaccines are bad and pharmaceuticalicals don't want you to find out how "animal dewormers" are the REAL wonder cures. And that's why Trump got reelected and Elon got a cult following. Now that cult following has diminished significantly because he bought his account in Path of Exile 2, and played it on stream on his provste using Starlink, as an advertisement for Starlink, only showing his complete noob behaviour in the game.
He should live stream his buddy Trump play golf, and show us how he doesn't cheat as well.
