Just wanted to pop in to say that the offer for pick 33 is very reasonable. But we are hesitant to pull the trigger because he's a contracted player in an area where we don't have a lot of depth. I think if Collingwood agrees to deal with 25 + 33 for henry wed have a deal by the end of the day.

You’d have to say the chances of Dunkley making it to our pick in the PSD is pretty close to zero though
And even if he did, there would have to be some serious 'massaging' of contracts to make it work without pushing someone/s out. Doubt it would be possible unless we changed our names to Geelong.

Hope so

With how complicated getting JFH and Rioli was, you'd think this one would be easy.

A mid-20s depth player who seemingly had the club's blessing to consider offers during the season for more game time. Finds an offer he wants. Geelong want to trade in another highly rated young player and offer well under. Then improves their offer, but still not enough. Port has the pick to help sort that out, with some shuffling with another club, and is willing to offer that. Geelong holding out.

Take 33 for Ratugolea + 58. Then Geelong to figure out how to turn 25 into a pick that Collingwood is willing to take + a late pick back as their second pick.

Seems quite obvious. But seeing how GWS or Gold Coast aren't involved to give away freebies, it'll probably be left to Port to figure out the pick shuffle that unlocks Geelong/Collingwood's otherwise separate deal.

Geelong have the best go home factor in the Comp.
Each year thay track where their star Geelong Falcon kids get drafted (and then come knocking in a few years).

This was what we were hoping to achieve with keeping the sanfl academy and reserves.

Of course rather than build their own the crows joined with the sanfl to have it shut down.

We’ve cut so much of our club out to appease the mini minds of the sanfl - had done massive damage to junior development in SA too.

Geelong have so many unique advantages due to geography that no other club gets. It's a rort.

Would complete the Fijian Trinity

Rodan, Alipate and Esava

The team for all Fijians

Hey who knew Rodan and Alipate were cousins?
We are the team for all nations !
We also had a player with Fijian heritage at the Magpies about 10 years ago Aseri Raikawasa who was a very promising athletic defender.

Before posting potential trade offers, it would be helpful if you understood who had what future picks they could trade AND how many draft picks the club require for this years draft.

Geelong can not trade their future 1st, nor have any need for late picks this year - Mackie has stated that they will be only taking two picks to the draft - Pick 7 and at this stage Pick 58

Also, if Geelong were willing to split Pick 7 they would not need to involve GWS- they could just accept Collingwood's offer of Henry and Pick 16 for Pick 7

I think the Ratagolea trade gets done. I think Geelong would prefer a future pick over Pick 33, unless they needed to package that up with Henry.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Clark focus is a bit of a furphy, and Geelong look to get Busslinger with Pick 7 - which I think might suit our list needs more - especially if Ratagolea is traded out.

Holmes, Parfitt, Bowes and O'Connor are already younger mids who are established at AFL level, and Bruhn, Knevitt, Stephens and Willis are a good bunch still developing, with the older crew of Blicavs, Guthrie, Atkins and Menegola still having a few years left.. there might not be any 'big' names in there, but Geelong's strength is their ability to rotate their mids and keep them fresh, not a reliance on 2-3 superstars (though the older crew of Selwood, Dangerfield and Smith are/were guns, they are not required to play large minutes on-ball in our system).
A trade of 33 for Ratugolea and 58 is more than fair and would bring your 2nd pick in significantly, whilst balancing out the deal with a pick you wont use.

It's not massive overs at all who the fukc do you think you are drafting at 33?
It absolutely is. People talking like Esava is a quality proven key back. He'd be 5th in line for us as a key forward and we aren't even sure if he can go past Pasini in our depth chart as key back, let alone Clurey. He's got some potential, but it's totally unrealised and his AFL form to date hasn't been convincing. He's in the Frampton mould right now, a 3rd rounder type. If we can get him in and he reaches a new level then happy days. If he doesn't then a late pick isn't too bad.

There are a lot of options in the draft though for some good 195+ KPDs that might be available around 33 though.

And none of them are getting a game next year.
