IDK. With a decent preseason, he would be way better option than Jonas ever was. If we miss the Rat, then Clurey could be a surprise packet next year. Especially when he knows his time is short.Been injured for a large chunk of the year but he's cooked. Will be 30 at the start of next year and has not been able to establish himself as a starting 22 player over the last 3 seasons.
They've needed to get a KPD for a few years. Now with Jonas retiring and Clurey on the out with McKenzie on his last legs and Aliir entering the final year of his deal, getting Esava will be a good get. Whilst I'm not enamoured with him as a player he's a clear upgrade on what the Club has in that space and his style does fit the way Port's defence is structured.
His role in 2024 and beyond will be 'not playing for Geelong'. Thanks for dropping by.Sorry to intrude, just interested in your thoughts on Duursma and his role in your team 2024 and beyond?
What is the deal with Clurey? Lost form? Injured? Hinkley patsy?
He'd be a mid ager for the catsStraight swap for Travis Boak.
Duursma is a starting winger for us. If anyone is surplus to needs, it's Bonner.Sorry to intrude, just interested in your thoughts on Duursma and his role in your team 2024 and beyond?
IMO, Duursma for Rata makes sense. Duursma is surplus to Ports needs, Rata is surplus to Geelong's needs. Rata was incredible for us during the year. He was only pushed out of the team when Jack Henry and Sam de Koning were healthy.
I can see Rata slotting straight into your best 22 in 2024 and playing a significant role. Believe it or not, he was best few players for many of the early rounds when he was our sole big defender.
If we didn't have SDK on our list, Rata would have been offered a long-term deal on generous money.
I can see why you would be hesitant to trade Duursma, but seems like a win-win for both parties.
I've been watching footy a very long time and its honestly hard to think of another Duursma. He plays a role nobody else can or does play. When he is up and running its like you have an extra player at every stoppage, an extra forward every time you go inside 50, an extra defender every time you need an act of desperation.Sorry to intrude, just interested in your thoughts on Duursma and his role in your team 2024 and beyond?

same age, same income, same super contribution. If we're talking surplus needs, Bonner for Ratugolea is much closer to the mark than Duursma.
Around the same age (25/26) and played the same amount of games (mid-70s). Have both shown promise at times and have some deficiencies, and now find themselves still as fringe players, who should be looking for other opportunities to progress their careers.
Of course, Bonner is a free agent so wouldn't be part of this. But they're closer to similar positions in their career.

Wing is a list weakness of ours right now. We allowed Amon to walk, and have struggled to find a replacement. Our game plan has evolved to be more direct this year and avoid our wings a bit, but for us to be serious we need a winger to step up next year and realistically Duursma is our best chance for that. It wouldn't make sense that he moves on.Duursma is surplus to Ports needs,
Duursma is not for sale or trade.Sorry to intrude, just interested in your thoughts on Duursma and his role in your team 2024 and beyond?
