They still don't understand how ASADA and WADA work. They don't need to prove you are guilty, you have to prove you are innocent. Do they not understand that bans have been made for people missing drug tests or not being where they are mean't to be. You are responsible for what goes into your body.

Mmmm, better not, reckon most of it was either illegal or unethical. Best you leave a guy like Wallis in charge, his supposed record keeping incompetence is actually believable.

The thing that sh!ts me the most is the complicity of the AFL medya in all this.
I believe that the way this has been reported has been mostly premeditated or at least in line with the way the media contingent is biased towards the AFL and protecting AFL interests.
One of the most glaring finding from the CAS decision was that during the period under investigation (mostly 2012), 19 doping control forms were lodged by * players during that period. And of those 19, not one declared the TB4 (or thymosin as described on their consent forms) injections on those particular consent forms. One or two not doing it I can understand. Benefit of the doubt that maybe one or two might overlook it (as remote as this concession would be for professional athletes).
But for all the players not to declare this on their doping control forms?! Each one of the 19?! Yeah sure, nothing suspicious there
As the CAS pointed out, this was one of the "strands" of evidence that was used against them and indicated behaviour that is normally associated with drug cheating. An insight if you will into the mind and the though process of the players involved. Also, for all the players to behave similarly suggests a group mentality to behave the same way. Predetermined and considered.
There a lots of other "strands" available to easily reach a guilty verdict but this was glaring AFAIC. Some in the medya raised this point immediately following the CAS finding but just as quickly brushed it aside as not being able to be explained!!! Easy folks, because they deliberately cheated...

That's not what happened at all. They proved they were guilty of a conspiracy to conceal information.
If they had no clear signs of positive drug tests AND there was no evidence of any form of undocumented program, no one would have been charged with anything.
Hell, if Dank had done it without any knowledge or further action taken by any other staff member, he would have been the only one with a charge from ASADA, and the players never would have been punished.
It's incredibly important to realise that they were absolutely innocent until proven guilty, and that they were proven guilty. inyourcool covered this well.

Actually if they had continued to not document any drug use they may have avoided any bans. WADA must punish individual athletes, so it was the consent forms each player signed for TB4 which nailed them. They didn't receive any bans for the many other, far worse PEDs being used - because WADA could only prove they were going to the club, and couldn't prove which players they were used on.

Herald Sun can't help themselves. Even in a story about McDevitt having acted without blemish, the headline and content repeat the allegations and have him being "cleared of lying" instead of something more accurate like "false & baseless accusations dismissed". At least Bruce Francis and Alan Hird were called out (amongst others) for being the ignorant and blinkered half-wits who tried to smear him.
You can certainly see clearly which newspaper sponsors efc. Easily one of their best sponships deals of the last 25 years. And certainly one Carlton could have be wise to look at from 2000-2010.

Haha. Even more confirmation that the AFL 'independent' tribunal was a farce.
The AFL pretty much bent their back in contorted angles just so they could lessen the damage as much as possible to that putrid club. I hope this makes the AFL revisit their decision and actually ping them for doping. Something that should have happened after the CAS decision.
We did our time, we took our punishment and didn't take the high court road like we could have... but we still get called cheats!
Looks like they've salary cap cheated in 2 premiership years now - according to Nixon.

I kind of disagree. I find it fascinating, amusing & entertaining. Why watch made up soap operas on TV when you can watch a real one.
People have taken their own interest out of this. Whether that be, amusement, justice, legalities, cover up, lack responsibility, science, bemused by certain delusional & bias media people, power & influence, strategies taken to cover players etc etc
I think things will naturally quieten down now. But we can't let this happen. I suggest two dates every year to remind all of this period. And they fall outside the footy season too.
Date 1: Feb 5 The date Essendope self reported. We infiltrate Ess forums & main boards and remind them every anniversary of the club that never took responsibility & how so many of their supporters stood by their men & are probably still in denial.
Date 2: Jan 11 Celebrating justice been done & how the AFL failed to cover it up
The dates suggested above are a bit of a joke. But the outside football world have been calling us cheats for the past 15 years for a much much lessor crime.

when idiots come out with "the game has never been better" - they are ignoring small matters like that - how without any warning, justification or accountability one of the ornament games of the code has just got 100% more expensive - pricing plenty of people out of watching it live
