Does anyone in the media have the guts to point out what a potential disaster this trade period has been for the Dons?

Desperate for the PR win they dumped a large percentage of their cap into three players whose first clubs were happy to see them go. Gresham was one season away from being Billings, McKay is Marchbank 2.0, and Duursma seems like a flog.

Give * fans their sugar hit for a few days, let Slobbo write about the trade week victories and they'll sell some extra papers to the * nuffies. Then as the trade week "feels" begin to subside, out will come the training down the house articles, the prediction of top 4, etc. etc.. more papers will sell.

Fast forward end of round 24, 2024 => "Herald Sun - Another wasted Dons season, by Mark Robinson"

yep, in Feb Timmy on ch7 news will trot out a puff piece on how great they are, and a few burnt out talking heads will make bold predictions that they can potentially finish top 4
