Doubt both will leave. But if they do, I hardly think Welsh and McPhee will be the difference between Essendon finishing bottom 4 and not.

How many games did the Bombers win when Welsh was out with his busted ankle at the start of this season? Their fair share I would have thought.

They probably won't make finals in 2010, but surely the Bombers will finish above North, Richmond, Melbourne and probably Freo. They'll be better than Port as well, so that should see them out of the bottom 4.

They have lost Lloyd, Lucas and Lovett.

It now looks as though they are going to also lose Welsh and McPhee.

Add n over the hill Fletcher, a FF on one leg in Williams and Hille coming off a knee, I rate Essendon as a monty for bottom 4 should the two boys in question leave.
