Essendon* plan to give banned players a 'lap of honor' before their round 2 game vs Melbourne

Giving the 34 players a 'lap of honor' before the first bounce: Good or bad idea?

  • Excellent idea, we rarely have enough opportunity to cheer convicted drug cheats in our sport.

  • Good idea, and probably about the only time Essendon* players will be cheered all day.

  • Decent idea, this will make up for not being able to cheer Adam Goodes before the GF.

  • Bad idea, it'll be discomforting enough seeing Crowley cheered in an Essendon* jumper

  • Shocking idea, I knew Essendon*'s marketing team was out of touch with reality but this is insane

  • Jack Watts thinks this idea is up there with Meatloaf playing the GF & Freo signing Colin Sylvia

As one of the 7 MFC fans carpooling to the ground with chains on the range rover tyres, i endorse this idea.

Perhaps you should get Lance Armstrong to MC the introduction of the players. Maybe an unfair comparrison though given when he was using performance enhancing drugs, he didnt lose to a Mark Neeld coached Melbourne:p

You're clearly a fraud... car pooling? What a disgustingly middle class invention.

Always quick to seize an oppourtunity for a bit more $$$, the Demon Shop has just released another new range!

Look at the photo of the two players on the right. To borrow a term from Toot Toot!, it looks like someone is about to get a hand shandy.
NYYAWWT.

That'd be a humourous touch, I'll even personally shout one for each of the seven Demons supporters present.

After the lap they could line up and present one each to the 34. They'll have to do a few players each, but they don't look heavy so should be ok.

In return we'll continue to fund the existence of the miserable stain that is the Melbun Football Club.

You know what makes me happy? As awful as the last 10 years have been for us, the Essendon hivemind have had it worse. I never thought I'd see a club make us look like Hawthorn in our off field conduct, but you guys are just too good.

BTW we ran at a profit last year, pretty hard to fund us when you're burning through millions and the players get banned anyway :)

I don't know how their marketing team could possibly sit down and discuss this like it's a good idea. What the ****?

This shit doesn't happen in any other sporting code.

West coast play a tribute match every single year and named a stand after a bloke who died of a drug overdose. If that's acceptable, then a quick buzz around the G for some young blokes done for unwittingly using non performance enhancing, performance enhancing drugs shouldn't be too much of a stretch.................................:hearts:

I thought the ban meant they're not allowed to set foot on any Sporting Arena affiliated with ASADA/WADA so how can this idea get off the ground. I think it's a PR exercise by the Club to keep the sympathy levels up in the public's mind.

I reckon its Essenscum trolling the AFL, so that when AFL say no, they can cry "see another example of how everyone's against us, when we are trying to be brave for our brave supporters"

I'm glad it wasn't round one, it would have been inclined to shit in my hand and throw it at them.

I may or may not do that every game anyway.

For the first time since the "Black Day" I am shocked. They must be mainlining the kool aid down at Essenscum. The AFL must be furious, its all the scum need now, get the AFL even more angry at them.
