However, considering we're talking about 2 potential mothers the club would absolutely know who it was if it was actually one of them. They would also be seeking to assist her as there was evidence of an anxiety disorder and just regurgitating inflammatory and embellished language designed to paint a picture rather than actually describe what had happened.

Does anyone remember that plot line from The Wire where during the mayoral election a state's witness is murdered and Tommy Carcillo gets on his high horse about it because he'd previously requested that that witness be protected and gets a huge political boost as a result? And then the cops figure out the guy actually just caught a stray bullet from a totally unrelated gunfight and his death was totally coincidental?

Wonder if it's a similar deal. Prankster/deranged person rings up Eddie, does the sob story on radio. No conspiracy, just good timing because it strikes a chord with the public.

When Robbo's leading the charge of a conspiracy theory, it's probably time to reconsider the theory. Nobody positing the "fraud" can offer a viable motive or realistic perpetrator because it's so far-fetched. Not impossible but the likelihood of it being a conspiracy/nutter as opposed to being a genuine call is pretty slim, in my opinion. Eddie, ASADA, the AFL, anyone who could've been thought to be behind it has way too much to lose if it's exposed. It just doesn't bear scrutiny.

Yeah, I personally doubt both Eddie and his producer/s are stupid enough to let it go to air without being convinced it was legit. Too much to lose otherwise and whilst Eddie is a dick, he is savvy enough to avoid such pitfalls, generally.

We know the club investigated and could not determine who this "Sarah" was.

Why did the club need to investigate it in the first place? Ask yourself that and then have a look at the witch-hunt that has gone on around an anonymous person, imagine if the woman and her son were known. Heaven forbid they were a "fringe" player like Steinberg who might have been "depressed about their job".

Even Gerrard WHately on 360 put Robbo on the spot last night about this article. Pressed him for why and where he was going with it, and that he was "on watch". Robbo had no answer except to squirm in his chair and carry on about there being so many unknowns in this case - effectively trying to avoid the question for Gerrard. Gerrard still put him "on watch" and Robbo squirmed again. He is truly becoming an embarrassment to the HS.

He actually got vocally upset. Was good viewing. He didn't like being called on the futility of the whole article.

It was hilarious he actually whined like a child, "why am I on watch, why isn't this Sarah on watch?"
