Unfortunately, that is the mentality of the people we have to deal with. The kids that have tantrums because the calls they made about our club have gone horribly wrong and the supporters are after their blood, they feel the pressure from bosses and Caro has said how vindictive we are as supporters because we keep trying to get her sacked from the Age, she doesn't realise if she stopped printing lies as fact we wouldn't go after her.

Smith is the same kind of tool, getting attention for the wrong reasons.

He is the same tool that went up to GC and realised the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow wasn't exactly what has been talked up by the AFL yet now is going on about it again.

He is just a moron and you can never win arguments with morons because when they have no facts to back up their arguments they just lie and try to pass it off as fact. Smith and Caro can't comprehend the difference a budget shortfall and cash flow shortfall due to the project ending 3 months earlier than anticipated/promised. The money is there, the distribution from the AFL just comes after October and the project wasn't meant to be completed until February next year. Worst case scenario would be the need for bridging finance for the short period between the completion and the AFL distribution, or alternative the AFL might want to bring forward part of our payment. Our budget for 2010 is not affected. He is implying we are $1m short on next year's budget, which we are not.
 
That was disgraceful, and kudos to Eugene for the way he presented and handled himself. Some carry themselves professionally, others do not it would seem.

I am all for free-speech, etc, etc... But fair is fair, and anyone can sit there talking over another person with the same negative, dated rhetoric.

It's Fatpricks job to make the supporters and members aware of the problems at the club, according to him? Give me an fn break!! How about a positive story sometimes, to show the 90% of things the club have done right off field in the last two years? Where is your obligation to the pro-Gold Coast people, Fatprick? Why don't you feel morally obligated to them to point out the flaws in their reasoning, and that the club has taken many a positive step since the GC drama? Why aren't you on your high horse about pointing out the memberships exceeding 30000, or the profit delivered, or the Arden st redevelopment?

Why wont you see that 'journalism' takes a bit more than stumbling in your own bile and mucous over to your 2007 filing cabinet, photocopying and paraphrasing your own articles?

If you're an expert, why can't you understand that delivering an articulate message rerquires more than shouting over a measured professional person like a baby?

How are you guys doing it in Melbourne?? I'm 1000km away and my blood is boiling! Are these people serious?

How's when he brought up the coaching position? According to Fat, it is a fact that Buckley is going to coach and a fact that we will be paying him $800,000 a year (a figure made up for a paper article). He had a go at Euge about that. The board meet for the first time about this tomorrow don't they?

Send your complaints through to mediawatch guys.

Get them to do a show on Fatprick. That'll do alot more damage then emailing anybody else.

Contacting SEN is a waste of time.

I have composed this email to the editor of The Australian.

Dear Editor,

Firstly, I would like to state upfront that I am a subscriber to both The Australian and Weekend Australian.

It was with much anger and disgust that I heard one of your journalists, Patrick Smith on the radio this morning, on Kevin Bartlett's "Hungry for Sport" program on SEN (interview available online at http://www.sportsentral.com/pro/main/storyreader.aspx?sid=12933&sr=all) I would invite you to listen (The incident in question begins at the 4.40 mark).

Regardless of the content, mostly comprising of an anti-North agenda that he was been pushing for over two years, his interaction with Mr. Arocca, CEO of the North Melbourne Football Club is disgraceful, and totally unbecoming of your highly regarded newspaper. He talks over the top of Mr. Arocca, continually interrupts while he is trying to answer and acts in a most unprofessional and disrespectful manner. Your newspaper has the tradition of being the most highly regarded newspaper in this great country, and to have someone who rants like a petulant child representing it is demeaning to the standing of The Australian.

I do not agree with Mr. Smith's contention, to the point where I no longer read his articles, however if Mr. Smith does not apologise for his interaction with Mr. Arocca, as well as his labeling of NMFC as a "prostitute club", I will be canceling my subscriptions to The Australian and Weekend Australian.

I switch it off when Smith comes on, and I'm not going to bother listening to today's rubbish either, any more than I'd buy his tragic paper, but I am just delighted that Eugene called in rather than letting it slide. Great to hear.

Mind you, I had it on later when KB was rehashing it all and saying "$100 million" over ahd over, and just wanted to ring up again to say IT WAS NOT $100 MILLION YOU LAZY SODS. No point with KB, of course, once something's in that little mind it stays for good.

How, specifically have you been supporting us Patrick? It doesn't seem to be clear to our CEO, nor to most informed supporters and members. These comments lack substance. They are also damning with feint praise when you use the word 'try' (compared to more committed language when describing your own views.)

“I've always been supportive of you but I will always point out errors.”

Me too! Prove you've been supportive, and prove we've made errors.

“Every decision you make now is informed by the poor decision you make not to go to the Gold Coast.”

It is your opinion it was a poor decision. Fair enough, in some ways, to say that subsequent decisions can be viewed against the GC decision, but not to call it a poor decision.

Save for the 'white knights' and the need for an equitable stadium deal, the evidence suggests we've made the right decision. We have not yet eliminated our debt, nor assured a viable and secure income stream (hampered by the stadium deal), but everything else we've done has been a positive contribution to the properity of NMFC.

“Don’t start looking for cheerleaders cause of bad decisions you make Eugene. Don’t go start going around saying people ought to be cheerleaders because we’re going broke at Etihad.”

Patrick, you've made your agenda clear. Your aim is to highlight information that you believe affirms your opinion that the GC decision was a poor one. And you'll ignore reporting and focusing on information that contradicts it. It's all very well to say you support us, but when you take this approach, it is the opposite of supportive as it contributes to a myth that we're not doing well.

We're not after cheerleading from you, we're after some objectivity and balance. You like to think of yourself that way, but we're not seeing it.
 
Missed a chance to get the good cop bad cop going. Fatprick was talking to Euge like he was a nobody. The bloody nerve of him. A whack or 2 was deserved to shut that assbandits cakehole at least for a while. This bloke needs an uppercut. Next time Euge, rip him to pieces as the Cowro requires the facts approach and fatprick some death threats.

I wonder if JB and Eugene need to commit to a tell all article in which they acknowledge the white knights hasn't happened, and probably won't now (primarily, I assume, due to the global financial crisis).

If this is such a bone of contention for the naysayers, then bury it. Yep, we didn't get that one. We hoped to, and we haven't. We may yet reap some support along these lines, but we're no longer saying that this will assure our future.

This doesn't mean our future is not viable, however. Our membership and sponsorship revenues have risen considerably since deciding to stay, and with an equitable stadium deal, the combination will be more than sufficient.

We've got new facilities, a young list and our footy team will be playing and winning finals again soon. We're looking forward to appointing a new coach to take us there.

As JB showed the vile one last night for no other reason a lot of the bashings from the media stems from previous admin and previous coach being pro gold coast, pro NMFC player bashing and generally poor in the media. JB merely stated some of the truth and Caro was left clasping at straws in front of a man that has done so much in such a short time. Euge should play the heavy hitter and Bucks the whole package and we will scare off the media scum in time as their agendas revolve around proving themselves correct and bullying a side that has had terrible media representation recently.
If the white Knights are a small chance, no need to play into the media hounds hands and declare it gone. IMO this issue is only a big deal to them as it gives us a sleeping giant ability somewhat, that goes against their agenda for us to die. Leave the knights in the background and tell Cowro/Fatprick to get fu**ed, or often mention who the f*** are you again? When speaking with them. The balance will soon shift.

I know we have our disagreements on some things numchuks but I think approaching Mediawatch about the Bloated Windbag and also Caro could be very effective if MW are prepared to take it up. It would show up their lack of journalistic integrity rather than focus on the issues being reported.
 
The treatment he got at the hands of Smith was disgusting
