So that will be no Fellaini, Jagielka or Piennar.

This is the time for Johnny Heitinga to step up. Start him at CB, Coleman at RB and Neville can play in the holding midfield role.

I think Coleman can give us some joy along with Bily on the wings. But it would not surprise me to see Hibbert and Osman playing in those positions instead.

COLEMAN HEITINGA DISTIN BAINES
NEVILLE
BILY ARTETA GUEYE
CAHILL
YAKUBU

I would like this side to start on Sunday however Moyes will not throw in Coleman, Bily and Gueye hist 1st start in a derby.

Completely agree with that lineup, but it aint going to happen.

I'm just hoping they start Billy on the left, Coleman at RB, and, worst case scenario, put Ossie on the right.

And we better take it to this Liverpool side, a fantastic chance to win a derby.

Awesome first half with plenty of pressure on the red shite, Cahill's goal and Yakubu running around like a man possessed. I reckon he'll score in the second half if he keeps it up :)

As one of the biggest Distin critics in the last 2 years I will say this. That is the best performance from an Everton CB I have seen in years.

Was sensational :)

On the game.. What a win, the boys really wanted it. Billy just didn't get into it (probs because he has played about 20mins total this year) and so was Beckford (clearly struggling to take the step up).

Yakubu was sensational. The bloke was a machine.

Agreed, his man marking was sensational. Every time a long ball came down he was first there. Plus his tackle in the box in the last :thumbsu:

Superb performance, easily the best we've played in some time.

So many positives. The biggest for me was Yakubu, looked like his former self again. He was an absolute beast up front. It's amazing what having a striker who can hold the ball up can do for the side. Felt that allowed Areteta more of the ball in advanced positions. Has been playing far too deep this season. The defence was solid, Jags and Distin were immense. Coleman continues to impress on the right and then there is Timmy. What more can you say about him? The man is a phenomenon and the amount of crucial goals he scores are priceless.

A great win and with it we jump all the way to 11th! Another huge game against Spurs next week. Lets hope we can keep this momentum running into another streak similar to that in the back half of last season.

For me the most pleasing aspect of the game was that we managed to keep a clean sheet, because I was certain that they would at least find 1 back, and possibly even level it.

We sat back heavily after thesecond goal, which made for a nervous 40 odd minutes, but made the win all the more sweeter in the end!!

Agree with Sheeds on Distin, was absolutely phenomenal! Yakubu played his best game for god knows how long, and Coleman absolutely has to start every game for us, his first half was immense.

I don't think I need to profess my love for Timmy any more, as it is well documented. Mik looks to be finding his form again, and I have always been a huge fan of Bainsey, who had another great game.

Billy looked ordinary, Beckford's not ready yet, but the positives from that 90 minutes are far too overwhelming to dwell on those small negatives.

Bring on Spurs, and bring on that European spot!!! :D :D

Have you seen us play at all this season?...

We've scored... a handful of goals only.

Not really, because Gerrard has to do everything, because there's no other midfielders to do anything.

And Torres is so isolated up front... so there's no help for him.

Where-as, it used to be Alonso and Masch, playing balls to Kuyt in good form and Riera/someone else on the left, where Gerrard would be up supporting Torres.

Not anymore.

True I spose, but our defence this year has been flimsy at best. And when you sit back for more than half an hour against a side with Gerrard and Torres, no matter how out of form they are, chances are going to come.

I think the fact that it wasn't even close to the best game you guys have played this season, shows where we're at.

You completely played us off the park, without actually playing to a level I think you're capable of.

Without having watched every game we've played this season I'd still say that probably was the best we've played this season. We've only had two wins and one was through an own goal and a last minute sealer.

We've still got a long way to go yet but momentum is definately swinging. God I hope Yak keeps producing efforts like that, he was monstrous last night.
