I like it, unique but traditional. Like of like the old lions jumper.

Nice colours actually. Very good--and I was a supporter of the double-blue concept! Would make the logo way smaller though; 4" tall and on the right chest area is where it should be. Or try putting it in the middle, a la Carlton, but smaller than what's in the picture--currently gets too much in the way of what is a winner colour combo. Pity they went for something like Wolverhampton Wanderer colours, but without the way better Wolves nickname. I guess we'll all get used to the U.S.-style "Giants" name. Definitely not my taste though. But the colours are great!

I think it's a good choice overall. Thank goodness they didn't go with Wolves. It would have been nice to have had an Australian animal in the list, but there wasn't.

Giants is fine. Much better effort than the GC imo.

Ahh, one design is a high-visibility vest to appeal to the 'blue collar Western Suburbs' people and the other makes the player look like a witch's-hat.

It's a decent start, and orange is an underused colour that will identify them well. Nothing is ever set in stone early, the jumper will go through some tweakings and transformations; look at the shitpiles that were Brisbane Bears, Port Power...(Hawthorn, still).

Giants as a name is passable. Ten times better than another bloody bird or Dockers or Power.

Just a question to those who may know. Why would they call it Greater western sydney ie a specific geographic location. Why not just call the team the Sydney Giants. Wouldnt that better appeal more people over the whole city? After all the Swans arent East Syney Swans.

Swans' home ground is in downtown Sydney, GWS's will be out west.

I like the colours overall at least they've gone for something they can make distinctly theirs with the orange. The jumpers a bit pale or something but maybe they're deliberately leaving some room for more tweaking before the next unveiling when they join the afl in 2012.

The names completely MEH but none of the options seemed to be too original anyway and it doesnt really matter, give it time and it will build its own character. I suppose with Dockers gone you can't really blame them for settling .

Because they're specifically targeting Western Sydney. This team isn't aimed at the inner city or the Eastern Suburbs where the Swans are strongest, it's aimed at West Sydney specifically which is where footy is weakest.

I heard Sheedy on Triple M this morning saying there were about 4million people classed in teh Western Sydney area....thats a fairly broad area and its hard to get more members/interest by being elsewhere.

Terrible all round! Firstly the Giants just stinks of an American team, they've also just stolen the West Tigers colours, maybe trying to grab a few fans from them. There is also a team already called the Giants with the same colours, The San Francisco Giants.

What's with the new teams needing to tell us all who they are on their jumpers or having a big stupid logo. A giant G that will look outdated in 5 years, great idea! Have the new franchises not noticed that all the timeless traditional jumpers don't have a giant letter on them ( except Carlton, who still have a traditional look). They are classics because they are simple, traditional and don't become outdated in 5 years. Big ups for Freo for realising that.

Is there a clue in the G meaning being the shape of NSW with the sydney harbour (swans territory) clipped out ? Light blue shadow down the right side would enhance that !

I also get the "Mountain Sunset" line. funney haw we hav the GC rising suns and the GWS setting sun

I suppose when they merge Giants with Suns it will be supernova !

Yeah I wish they called them the Wolves, like what the people of BigFooty considered everyone to want. At least there's no team called the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA too!

It isn't a g it is clearly a stylised C to represent Canberra.
