Stevens had great numbers this year and I think he will settle into the Saints best 22 moving forward. Giving up multiple picks for 1 player is never ideal but getting a little something for 2018 helps.

I now need to look at cutting 6 players to take my 5 picks to the draft. Will be interesting to see if guys like Hartung and Oxley find homes in the next few weeks.

Hannebery, Stevens, Macintosh and Partington in so far, and you still have picks 11, 17, 18, 25 and 30 to work with. L_W_P the standout mover and shaker this off-season so far! Good work!

I said last year that I was loading up for this off season. Got to make the most of it and get into the finals.

My midfield was my weakest spot so Stevens and Hanners help that. KMac gets a few touches as a defender also. Really hoping Hartung can find a home. He was one I thought was going to be a solid 22-30 option for ages. Oxley as a rookie is a little risky but he finds so much of the ball. Gilbert solid but how many years does he have? What is going on with Ty Vickery? Can Sam Day finally deliver? Who is Cameron Polson?

Some tough cuts coming for Team LWP I think...

Haha not loading up THAT far just yet.

Mullett getting picked up by the Blues. No idea why North cut him. Had a great year in 2017. Can only think his body is too unreliable for them to lock in as part of the rebuild.

Billy Hartung on the Saints radar as a rookie if he doesnt sign elsewhere.

Making these cuts even tougher haha

The 4 of them have to go for my draft picks. Will look at pick upgrades (even small ones) and can add these guys in a sweeteners on bigger deals if anyone is keen.

Worst case I'll delist them after the rookie draft. See where Hartung/Oxley end up before I make a final cut call

It doesn't always work, I find it works better for me on some threads than others, but none have a perfect strike-rate

LWP gets Rockford Raiders 2018 5th round pick.

Rockford gets Team LWPs 2018 6th round pick and Ben Long.

Just giving Longy a home here. I needed to free up a spot and Rockford said he take one of my cuts.

Long might be something. He has shown glimpses at lower levels but my big concern is that he looks pegged as a forward for the Saints. Given our draft just flooded the list with more defensive mids/half backs its a near certainty.

My hope was that he would be that dashing rebound defender all teams have. Our Houli/JJ.

Now it appears we want him to be our Cyril. My issue is that he was a reach when drafted AND we extended all or Wright, Minchington and Lonie to the end of next year.

Would have liked to move those picks up a round each to get something slightly usable but I agree with the rules in place re: teams trading future picks.

Im sure Rockford and I will work something out in 12 months anyway!

Confirmed. I'm going to need to take 3 picks in this draft, now I'll only need to take 2. Realistically I could've waited until the end of the draft and picked Long up as a FA selection (assuming I didn't go for another player instead) but this way it's done... and if there's someone I really want when our draft is all said and done I can just delist Long and pick that player up
