AS RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick perused his playing list through the week, deciding who would line-up against the Indigenous All Stars, a match belatedly cancelled because of poor weather, there was one player he really wanted to unveil.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, that player is only about to start year 10 of schooling and is only at the club, let alone in the country, for a week.

Gideon Simon and Nathan Malbak, a pair of 16-year-olds from Papua New Guinea now on the club's international rookie list, were invited to train with the Tigers last week.
So impressive had Simon been that Hardwick felt he was ready to mix it with some of the league's best.

Good to see that we're tapping into as many markets as possible to unearth talented kids. Irish kids last year and PNG kids this year, hopefully we have some success with these 2.

Another Rodan eh, mightve worked if we just kept the one we had...

Still, it's great to see we're joining the ranks of the professional football clubs and scouting far and wide, hope they find great success. If they go to De La Salle next year (god forbid it might ruin them) one benefit is I'll almost definitely see them regularly.

Heres hopeing then! if they know the clubs interested in them then it could force them to work hard and prove they have got what it takes!

Tigers Stripes you ********. Whats wrong with De La. If you knew your history of RFC you would know the greatest Tiger of all time went to De La Salle you tool. These guys would be lucky to get into De La.
