Ricciardo was cooked as a driver. He deserved to be axed last season based on results. So him leaving is absolutely necessary.

Not really. He would have brought the car home better than Sergio was. He wasn't a race winner anymore but they should have put him in Sergio's seat much earlier in the year and given Lawson the full year in the vcarb. Maybe he would have then been much better prepared not to fail.

But it's academic now Daniel isn't coming back.

He wining about something else

dont really see the point in dumping him so soon but based on how he sounded in china he knew he had such a short window. interested to see how yuki goes, wouldnt be shocked if it's not too much better since it seems to be a car entirely designed around what max wants.

He wouldn't have.

Dan knew he was cooked, hence why he's not still in the sport.

I think Yuki has nothing to lose going up, he has established himself as a solid F1 driver and if he fails everyone will blame the car and not Yuki.
This is true, it sounds like he was out of the Red Bull stable at the end of 2025 anyway, and not really a seat apart from maybe Cadillac available? Aston Martin will have Honda but both of their drivers will stay for next year you'd think.

What this now does is if Yuki performs well then there's a chance he stays at the senior Red Bull team next year.

There is almost no chance that Yuki will be at RB or VCARB in 2026.

Yuki is a pay to drive driver, with his seat paid for by Honda - who will no longer be supplying RB's engines in 2026.

Pay to Drive is pretty disrespectful really, he's better than that

What surprises me is that Lawson was able to put in good laps at the Silverstone test, which was part of what got him across the line.

How did he manage that ?
Max obviously set the target time but with no one else really there, it's probably a completely different feeling to trying to compete with others on the other side of the world.

I would really have loved it if Yuki had told them to get ****ed. That Racing Bull looks decent this year and he obviously has a good handle on it.
Looks fun to drive. Managed to qualify 5th in Australia. Just shame the team itself manages the races so poorly
