Disagree.

We are down to 8 and there are still two Championship sides in it - both with some chance to progress. And of the 8 teams left only two are fighting for other honours.

There is every chance this is a very low priority for Liverpool and City and the whole thing opens up for the rest.
It's not low priority for either of Liverpool and City. We're trying to win everything for Klopp in his last year and Pep and City are trying to win unprecedented back to back trebles which would be insane.

Both are in it to win it.

What would you like to bet that it won't be either Liverpool or City that win it?

Yep, big time. The gulf is getting larger all the time as well.

Throw in that most games are played at 2am over here and it's pretty easy to lose enthusiasm for what was once a great love of mine.
Certainly watch less 2am games than I did when Foxtel had it. Remember watching a lot of 2am Sat nights with uni mates the season Jose returned and won Chelsea the league. Often getting wings delivered from a 24/7 cafe

now that England is dominated by cheats with breaches and bad sportswashing records there is certainly a lot less interest. Clubs like Arsenal will go close but fall short of winning and their model is how football clubs should be run, self sustaining and use their academy well. But will win nothing in this doped country.

It is lower priority.

Liverpool play City in the League on Mar 11 and United in the FA Cup on Mar 17.

They will be very different sides that line up. No risks will be taken for the City game. Some kids will play in the United game.

They are the best sides left in it. But they still need to win three cup games to win it all - anything can happen in a cup game. That is the point of difference.

How would they be less special? That makes no sense. For the supporters of the clubs involved, it wouldn't be any less special at all.

It would be a bit odd to have included Wolves... if they weren't part of my tips for the next round.

Your post didn't make that particularly clear, seemed like you were moaning about those clubs.

If it's special for those clubs regardless I'm really not sure what you're trying to say. Those clubs still get plenty of special days.

Some might say.. That is the magic of the cup. ;)

That is literally the point of my initial post.

The point of difference doesn't exist anymore. Hence the big 5 winning the vast majority of any cup's in recent times.

How does the fact its a sudden death game rather than a league game not exist anymore? If Liverpool play city in the SF one of them can't make the final.

Of course it did, why on earth would I be throwing Wolves in with the big 5. If you weren't able to comprehend that, that's your problem, not mine.

The days of a Wigan/Portsmouth winning the cup are gone (the runs that actually were special for lower league clubs - not non league clubs). What special days are they getting now? Clubs like Wigan aren't getting life long memories from eliminating Bournemouth out of the cup. They're sure as shit not knocking Liverpool or City out anymore.

But whoever gets through will win.

I'll put $50 out there for whoever wants to bet it's someone other than Liverpool or City that win the FA Cup.

Except I wasn't the only one confused. 😂

You think Leeds wouldn't have seen this morning as special if they'd won? You don't think the championship clubs in the quarter finals aren't excited?

No I don't. If they were, they wouldn't be putting out 2nd XI's.

Getting knocked out by Chelsea won't have given Leeds fans any concern.

I think they'll be a bit disappointed, we were ripe for the picking this morning.
I can only speak on behalf of Leicester but I wouldn't have given a shit about getting knocked out yesterday against Bournemouth.

Leeds have a much more important run of games coming up in the league to try and guarantee promotion.

Had it been a mid table Championship club I'd agree with you. Leicester/Leeds have bigger fish to fry.

Not really.

Had we played Summerville, Rutter, Gnonto, Rondon and Ampadu back in defence, might have been different.

We had 5 changes from our strongest team and still performed well, particularly 17 year old Gray against a £200m midfield. Joseph bagged two goals as well.

As Jatz said, means we free up some games in a congested run home

I must admit since the fifth round draw I’ve just thought who cares it’s promotion we’re after. But after this morning’s QF draw and then when we were in the game I was hoping for a win. A little disappointing but yes now happy to move on and focus on promotion. No injuries a win in itself

Pretty easy, Casemiro was in front of him.

In terms of where the ball was coming from yes. He was in line with him though and could have affected it. The Man U player was offside and affected one of our defenders.

I didn't like it.

That'll hurt in the morning.

I don't agree though, I doubt he could have affected it.

There are two Forest players between Casemiro and Felipe. None of them got near it
