Port has gone with big bodied midfield- Ebert, Wines, Rockliff and SPP.

Whilst they have lost speed in Amon, Pittard, Barry and Johnson

They have been smashed in contested ball so they are obviously trying to correct that with the inclusion of Rockliff and SPP however I’m oaper it does look like they have lost outside spread and run

I can’t believe Neade has been selected zero kicks and 5 handballs last game, Whingard has to be a risk if he plays and I’m not convinced that Rocky is right and SPP is in good form

Plenty of unanswered questions for
port

Well ... I guess they can see that we rely on winning the contested ball so i figure that they want to win the contested ball... So what will determine the result will be how good our skills are.. Ie our ball movement ... If we move the ball with elite disposal efficiency and break the lines... We win. This is a perfect game for seedsman to shine imho.. This is could be similar to how Collingwood beat us... Except they destroyed our ruck... Dont think their ruck is good enough tbh

No surprise Neade keeps getting games, their small forward depth is so atrocious they had to go out and recruit Lindsay Thomas.

We were pure shit that day.

Unfortunately think were going to drop this one. A few to many key players out and Port have loaded up.

Will be interesting to see how traveling effects there run. But think were going to go down by 2-3 Goals

Key players out Brad and Rory, the two players that we have been winning without

Port have loaded up with a player who seems to have a miracle recovery from a Hammy that really does go against industry recovery times and another player who was in really poor form before being ommitted

Showdowns can be unpredictable however on paper we are better balanced IMO

Well if they play him and he does it again they’ll only have themselves to blame..

Watching the footage of him doing it you’d think it wasnt just a minor strain.. he had to hobble off in obvious distress..

Can't believe he's back really, I was watching when he did it and I thought he'd be out a month minimum by the way he was carrying on. What a princess.

Ok, balls on the line. I say there is no way we lose this one.

Yes, we’re missing Sloane, but they have an underdone Ryder coming back from injury having just played on a hard Perth deck.

They are also playing Wingard just 14 days after he pulled a hamstring. No way is he completely recovered for this game.

They’re also playing Neade, who managed just 5 handpasses last week (0 kicks).

Add to that, Port have loaded up with slow inside midfielders, making for a very slow team overall.

I think we still break even on the contested ball, but beat them on turnovers with speed on the outside.

Crows by 38.

Picking up two members passes from a workmate today. I’m going to get there early to watch the State Game and get a good seat.
With Sloane out I’m thinking it’s more of a 50/50 game, as others have said it depends which Adelaide turns up.

The way they beat North concerned me.

Crowd the opposition forward line then score quickly on the counter. Couple that with our two losses coming from teams killing us on the outside with run and quick spread from stoppages.

Even the trial game between us we lost the second half when Bonner and Barry took the game on and beat us on the counter.

With Port bringing in two inside mids and Wingard 13 days from a hammy ping as well as ommitting Barry and losing Aiden Johnson I feel a bit better.

Need to lock down on Polec and Motlop. The only two real outside players in their team with Pittard, Aamon, Barry and Aiden Johnson out.

Getting smashed in CP last week has spooked them into these changes. But it has also brought the game back more onto our terms with our slowish contested ball winning midfield of M Crouch, CEY and Greenwood.

I don’t think they could play that style in this game if they wanted to.

1. That was under the roof, so easier for them to hit targets.
2. They have taken most of their outside players out of the team and replaced them with inside mids.

Anything like when Talia grabbed dramatically at his hammy in the opening seconds of the game against Gold Coast last year... to be taken off, only to play the following week?? ;)

You mean the one where he still managed to run a few paces and kick the ball, compared to wingard who went off like he'd torn it off the bone?
