I noticed when I give someone my number or I save a number in my contacts they usually appear later in "People You May Know' version on Instagram.

Maybe Facebooks is similar.
Yeah Facebook can definitely access your contacts. I used my phone for work and Facebook was always adding work colleagues as people I may like to know

I got rid of Reddit, too, which to be honest I kept for so long because it’s the best archive of hot women showing off their assets you’ll ever see on the web. Was good for um, hand solo shenanigans.

But it’s too much, you want to keep looking and then it ends up chewing into gym time, chore time, hobby time etc. Not to mention other interesting threads. Also I hate the hive mind, upvote/downvote system of theirs, and at the end of the day it’s social media.

Agree with all the above. It has the disadvantage of being so busy that topics are repeated constantly.

I’m not on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram and I’ve tried them all before. So much better off without.

So BigFooty is my guilty pleasure. A return to the days of pre social media would be great but the genie is out of the bottle now.
Yep thats just up'ing your simp game. Which is sad and pathetic. Good for you.

Facebook is such a haven for Karen and Darren Boomer. The Bulldogs posted a picture of the team with the Indigenous flag before Australia Day . Today there are some pics of the boys at a smoking ceremony welcome to country.

According to the comments on Facebook membership cards are being angrily shredded.

I don't know if my club is particularly reactionary but geez some people are easily triggered, and once one person chimes in there's a good old fashioned pile in.

imagine being an AFL player and how many welcome to countries and smoking ceremonies they sit through. Probably more than the average aboriginal 🤣

Is there an issue having a picture with the Aboriginal flag? And it is fantastic they attended a smoking ceremony.

One of those things I feel a bit dumber for not realising sooner: there's a few random Facebook pages which post clips from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul and other similar TV shows and I can't help but watch them until the end, without giving much thought to the fact that the page's name has absolutely nothing to do with the videos that they're posting.

Apparently, they're from cybercriminals who've hacked innocent groups' pages and use popular clips to draw in dills like me to watch their full clips and get paid for the ad revenue, or even bigger dills who'd click on their dodgy links.

Sounds like the best bet is to keep scrolling, or even to give an angry react if these are coming up on your feed.

Those kind of groups are nothing but trouble and drama.

I heard there is one in Melbourne where females warn others about people they have dated and guys have found out they are being talked about because girls in the group tell them they are being talked about.

You don't think there is any value in people warning each other about dangerous people, or you don't think they achieve that goal?

I feel like it's a great idea in theory, but would be so easy to abuse that it would be essentially worthless. Put it this way: if I was single, I wouldn't be rushing to join one of these groups to verify that someone I was thinking about dating was a good person.
