We've passed the halfway point of the season so what has the ladder been doing this season (beyond win percentages frustrating most). Let's extrapolate!

Did you know:
  • Three rounds is the most consecutive rounds a club has stayed in the same ladder position;
  • The Bears, Phoenix, Roys and Wonders have not dropped out of the eight this season. The Bombers haven't been out of the eight since playing their first match in round two;
  • Teams are 5-2 after the bye this season;
  • The Old Boys are the only team yet to finish a round in the eight (highest ninth in rounds four and five);
  • The Warriors are the only team to not finish a round in a lower ladder position than the round before;
  • This season has been much higher scoring than last. After eight rounds last year 9189 points had been scored compared to 9488 this season.

Ladder sorted by best offence (ave points for per game):

Top of the table Warriors sit way ahead of all the other teams in terms of scoring. Fred leader The Filth Wizard would be a big part of that although they also seem to have also employed Malcolm Blight over the off-season as qoach. Third-placed Gumbies are following the Ross Lyon playbook of '12 qoals should be enough'.

Ladder sorted by best defence (ave points against per game):

The third-placed Gumbies, and interestingly, the twelfth placed Royals are each more than a goal better defensively per week than the rest of the competition. Cadsky is the Royals' full back so one suspects it's the rest of the Gold City defence that is doing much of the heavy lifting.

great work Falconista

Do you have a ladder of Round 6 onwards displaying the performances of teams after jackster83 made the shrewd move of transferring okeydoke7 to CHB to form the most formidable defensive combination in the league with Rodney Dangerfield ?

Awesome work here. I vote Falconista for admin just based on this effort alone .... :)

I’m the best CHB in the league and I f***ing hate it.

jackster83 and philreich have robbed me of taking the all time leading goal scorer record and my rightful place as an immortal.
Okey - question without notice: would you rather win a flag at CHB, or a spoon at FF? :)

Great post. However I must point out a slight flaw in your logic. Cadsky Put himself in the full back position, to force the rest of the field to act defensively. (when you go camping with a defective tent, you rug up). This brilliant strategy has us all defending like demons. So much so, we forget we're supposed to be scoring as well.

If that is true, Cadsky may well prove wily enough to win the adminship of the league.
