That would be Jack Trengove

Jackson is already on Port's list

Yes sorry about that :)

Ahhhh chad.

Nice work - but this is why we buy the prospectus mate ;)

Best 30 bucks you will ever spend - all the stats for all the draftees.

I haven't had a prospectus, but I think it helps to see the players with your own eyes. Stats are great, but helps to see what the players are like, weaknesses, how you think they will stack up in DT, are the in their draft sides 22 etc. Especially with some of the comments i have seen from mr freako/dr dream team.

I highly recommend one.

Oh, no doubting that watching them with your own eyes is a great exercise, I just meant you dont have to trawl through all the stats and add them up for each draftee if you buy a prospectus:thumbsu:.

I watched every video there was on youtube for probably the top 30 draftees (or draft prospects) and it served me very well - the amount of footage is growing rapidly year by year. Combine this with preseason games, a few training reports, coaches comments etc and now days you can get a very solid understanding and knowledge of a player.

I didn't know what thread to put this in, but some of my thoughts from trade week so far.

I think Brisbane definitely recruited Raines and got rid of Dalziell to enable Adcock and Drummond to spend significantly more time in the midfield next year. They probably need another onballer with Black/Power ageing and i don't think a young gun, other than Rich, has really stepped up and said 'pick me'. I do think they will develop the likes of Sheldon/Austin/Redden but i think Adcock could definitely see more time in the midfield next year with Raines and Mgrath being the rebounding defenders. I don't believe Adcock will be a permanent midfielder but i think he will rotate between on the ball and across half-back.

Drummond was used on a wing late in the season and i get the feeling Voss really likes his left foot weapon further up the ground. He's very capable of kicking goals (Lots of Lions players when outside 50 look to handball off to him for the running goal). I don't know if he'll be used exclusively as a winger but IMO he will see signifcant time in that position next year.

As for Staker, i think he will be used as another tall forward behind Bradshaw and Brown. I doubt he'd be a DT prospect but I think he does have some talent. Buchanon i think was recruited solely for the forward pocket role with Hooper, Harding not excelling. I doubt he will recieve substantial midfield time and probably isn't fantasy relevant.
I don't think going to West Coast makes Dalziell any more or less fantasy relevant really. I doubt i know enough about the Eagles structure to really comment on team structural affects of that trade but i do think someone like a Rosa could move to the half back flank (I believe he played across half back a little bit this year....) to provide more run and carry from the back line. Seaby is an interesting prospect, i do think he has talent and maybe this will be the 'fresh' start that he needs but unless Jolly is traded i just don't see him being DT relevant.

If anyone was considering Gibson thinking he would be developed more as a midfielder....IMO it won't happen now that he is at Hawthorn. I've said this a few times but IMO our transition from defence to attack was one of our biggest weapons in 2008 with Guerra, Birchall & Hodge - when he moved back - creating great run out of defense and hitting their targets well. I don't think our midfield really needs too much strengthening with a returning Young and possibly Shaun Burgoyne. Josh Kennedy seems very promising too so i doubt Gibson would get a run in our midfield unless he is tagging which McGlynn and sometimes Sewell do well. I think he'll be used almost solely as a key position defender or a third tall backman and will really free Birchall up.

Lovett to Saint Kilda is an interesting trade. I can't really find a spot for him in their starting midfield so i am not really sure what their plans are with him. I really think the saints 'need' a good 3rd tall forward to complete their team. This will be coming from left field a bit, but i reckon Goddard could spend quite a bit more time in the forward line next year. He showed he's vey capable in that position throughout the year and even kicked 3 or 4 goals in a quarter against the Eagles early in the year. I doubt the Saints are willing to rob themselves of a great midfielder but i think Goddard is more than capable of filling that forward role. Perhaps they are content with their forward structure but i would like to see them have one good 3rd tall to support the likes of Kosi + Riewoldt and Schneider, Milne and McQualter on the ground.

For Mclean to Blues and Hall to Dogs, i don't think there is too much to talk about there. Both probably become a little more fantasy relevant but have their respective 'issues'.

Hi all, I'm new around here, so I'll just start off by saying fantastic forums. Been DTing for about 5 years, cannot beleive I've never stumbled upon this.

A lot of amazing resources that will surely help me improve.

Using FanPlanner, I came up with a bit of a GnR format. Obviously early days and subject to a heap of change over the next 5 months.

BACKS:
Enright, Duffield, Fisher, Hodge, Ladson, Hunt, Croad - Trengrove and Laurie

CENTRES:
Ablett, Swan, Palmer, McVeigh, Young, Scully - Moratibo and Shuey

RUCKS:
Cox, Hille - Leuenberger and Warnock

FORWARDS:
Riewoldt, Higgins, Lynch, Walker, Mayne, Wonaeamirri, Trengrove - Rusling and Gumbleton

Bold - Premium Keepers

Start with a non-tradeable spine and value add was the theory here. Maybe a bit heavy through the back and a bit light through the middle.

Looking forward to 2010.

Hey m0nty, any consideration for reviewing the draftee's?

Do you think Trengrove will stay as a FWD?
Lewis Jetta any chance as a FWD?
Changes to the draft order?

Scully
Trengrove
Martin
Morabito
Cunnington
Bail
Lucas...

Did you publish your phantom draft/rookie positions anywhere?

Maybe this list would be a good replacement for the "Stale Burger" front page...

I would expect Jack Trengove to be a C/F. Does come up the ground a fair bit. He used one of the BF phantom drafts (there are PLENTY to pick from).

Not being rude or anything, i know its a hard job, but m0nty whens the site going to be updated, like trades and all?
Cheers in advance.

Just a general comment.........

I love the options for DT 2010. I think that at this early stage there are the most mid-priced options that i am interested in of any DT since i started playing in 05. Bring on 2010 already i say!

Thoughts on the team? Guru score = 1745.

Why anyone would watch the A-League is beyond me. If your a football fan, surely you would just watch the EPL? I cringe watching the A-League, the standard is atrocious.
