My memory growing up is it was a niche place (for a fast food drive-thru chain in 90s Australia). A place people would go if they needed a pile of chicken for whatever reason and some coleslaw. The logo and restaurants had a dated appearance like the 80s never ended. So it was really just about getting the chicken.
Then between 2000-2010 they decided to switch their target market to everybody that eats at McDonald's/Hungry Jack's. It's been pretty successful and they're now bigger than Hungry Jack's.

I only have a small appetite so really can't take advantage of these specials they now have. Mackers has probably doubled in price and shrunk half in size compared to 10 years ago.
