There's an AFLW thread filled with tumbleweeds where that can be put. Reality is 99% of us don't give a shit. In 10 years time when they're going on strike cos the men put their foot down over the constant syphoning and say align your EBA to actual income generated even less will care. All the women in my family and circle who love AFL can't stand AFLW so it's doomed to fail.

Actually I coached my daughter's U12 girls and was runner for the under 15's for 2 years forgoing my one sleepin. I bet that trump's your contribution to the girls game. One of them if she stays dedicated will be a gun when she's old enough to be drafted. Had free season tickets to Bulldogs team and a few tigers games each season couldn't give em away. I also sang an Adele song badly at Karaoke in front of 200 people (more than most AFLW crowds) I don't delude myself that entitled me to a salary subsidised by Adele. Get off ya high horse you don't support the women's team either.

They haven’t announced anything yet but you’d hope it’ll end up being a lot less than 100 games seeing the girls only get twelve game seasons

I’d say forty or fifty is probably a fair number

If the growing numbers playing ea year are any gauge and the significance of a woman’s team to all clubs at grassroots , doomed to fail maybe wishful thinking

the boys list not so much

we have really been crueled for years with father sons

scats and pies always get a gun one every few years

the legends of our club only have girls and the spuds always roll out a brood of boys

Actually I think the womens figures are stalling and actually declining slightly this year. Just what I’m hearing and seeing out in local clubland.

It was always going to level off at some point though.

Not an RFC team however I work with youths from a very rough area of Sydney and a young indigenous girl who doesn't have the frame to play Rugby Leauge like the other girls and might I add is bullied by the same girls so found it hard to make friends in her community... She finds AFLW and is really good at it! making new friends and is now looking up to the girls that play for GWS never taking off her signed jumper from the team... obviously, sport isn't the whole contributing factor for this girl's growth and having better opportunities (youth group, older leaders looking out for her) but it's having a big impact

I think the AFL should increase the luxury tax so teams that go over them have to spend that much on their women's department for grassroots and development.

If he became a first round pick next year how good would that be having traded ours away for Hopper. Hopefully the clubs recruiting and drafting team knows something we don't.

He's not going to be a first rounder. He'll be playing majority of the year for his private school mixed in with Northern Knights. I remember Nathan Bower years ago said he was the pick of the litter followed by Patrick and didn't think the middle was up to it. He also said Broderick's boys wouldn't make it so he's been spot on so far.
