I read on the AFL site they will be changing the NGA for Tassies, let's hope they don't find another way to screw us over there.
The new points system will go some way to addressing the current issues I think by making it very hard for teams to pick up more than 1 highly rated academy selection.
I think they should also make it that a bid can't be made on a selection in the first 2-3, teams that finish bottom are supposed to have access to the best talent so they can rebuild their list, letting other teams come in and snatch that talent just doesn't stack up.

All this encourages is top talent being asked to tank their u18 year, or for underhanded deals like what We're going to do with Brisbane - I.e get a good deal for points in return for not bidding on Ashcroft.

I'm sure there are ways to manipulate any system you can come up with and a bottom club would always have to consider if there will be a go home factor taking any kid, but there is a fatal flaw in a system where a Premiership team can just take the best player in the draft. It's OK this year as there is so much depth, but if there was one standout and a big gap to the next best would we be so happy about it.

I heard once that if a family has 2 boys first up, or 2 girls, then its almost certain the 3rd 4th and 5th will be the same. We lost th3 picket kids, lets make sure both kane amd abbie are in good enough financial positions that they can have a 3rd 4th and 5th son. Bring kane back I say!

I have just put out a video on Tanner Armstrong who is a NGA Academy prospect we will have access to in 2026.

Plays for the Murray Bushrangers and put together a really nice Under 16 Nationals carnival earning him the coaches MVP and All Australian selection.

One to track for sure!
