Fave Line from a Song

From The Violent Femmes (Old Mother Reagan)

"She's so dumb, she's so dangerous, how come she don't go far away...

"Went to heaven, at the pearly gates, she was shot!"

Timeless. Replace Reagan with Bush - and the song still hits the spot.

Please stop loving me
I am none of these things

End - The Cure

There's too much caffeine
in your blood stream
and a lack of real spice
in your life

A Rush And A Push - The Smiths

And you may ask yourself
What is that beautiful house?
And you may ask yourself
Where does that highway go?
And you may ask yourself
Am I right? ...am I wrong?
And you may tell yourself
My god!...what have I done?

Letting the days go by...

Aww, I had that in My Msn name, and on my myspace and no one got it. "Why would you want people to stop loving you" is what they often said..idiots.

Did you tell them it was a lyric?

Yeah, but they still didn't get it
Some intelligent friends I have :p

Johnny Cash:

"I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my baby down"

Vinnie Paz:

"WE're three fiends - like your flesh? 3 cyborgs that bang like ladesh"

I'm ready and hyped plus I'm amped, Most of my heroes don't appear on no stamps.

and

I am the killer of people, You look like a meatball

and

You got the lips to make a strong man weak and a heathen pray

From the Floyd classic:

When I was a child I had a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child has grown, the dream has flown
And I have become comfortably numb.

Oh What a great song that is :thumbsu:

"Wish I'd died instead of lived
A zombie hides my face
Shell forgotten
with its memories
Diaries left
with cryptic entries" Bother by Stone Sour

"Who are you to criticize
To judge and burn the tribes
The world will be extinct
And your flesh will rot with mine" Nomad by Sepultura

Just a couple there.

Just a small grab from that monumental rock epic - "The Majesty Of Rock" - from Spinal Tap's Breaks Like The Wind album. Profound stuff.

When we die, do we hunt the sky?
Do we lurk in the murk of the seas?
What then? Are we born again?
Just to sit asking questions like these?
I know, for I told me so
And I'm sure each of you quite agrees
The more it stays the same, the less it changes

And that's the majesty of rock
The mystery of roll
The darning of the sock
The scoring of the goal
The farmer takes a wife
The barber takes a pole
We're in this together...and ever...

Walk in silence,
Don't walk away, in silence.

Atmosphere - Joy Division

A blackened shroud, a hand-me-down gown
Of rags and silks, a costume
Fit for one who sits and cries
For all tomorrow's parties

All Tomorrow's Parties - The Velvet Underground

Don't talk to me, no
About people who are "nice"
'Cause I have spent my WHOLE LIFE
in RUINS
Because of people who are "nice"

Disappointed - Morrissey

Deepest Red - INXS

Here you come
My heart breaking
I'm in love
For you and more

Rooms For The Memory - Michael Hutchence

There's time the clocks on the wall
But time stands still remember
There's nothing left at all
But time stands still remember
A thought or two lingers on
In memorium the plaques on the wall and time stands still
Rooms for the memory
Rooms for the memory

Move On - INXS

I Used To Be In Another World
I Used To Be Alone
It's So Hard To Be Yourself
When You Feel Like Something's Wrong

Speaking of this song Brittany, any idea where the soundtrack to Dogs In Space might be available on CD or download?

This track, one of my favourites, also tells a pretty good story, if you can interpret its' meaning:

Cars & Girls - Prefab Sprout ( January, 1988 )

Brucie dreams……
Life’s a highway - too many roads bypass my way
Or they never begin.
Innocence coming to grief
At the hands of life - stinkin’ car thief, that’s my concept of sin
Does heaven wait all heavenly over the next horizon ?

But look at us now, quit driving,
Some things hurt more, much more than cars and girls.
Just look at us now, start counting
, What adds up the way it did when we were young ?
Look at us now, quit driving
Some things hurt much more than cars and girls.

Life’s a drive through a dust bowl, what’s it do, do to a young soul
We are deeply concerned,
Someone stops for directions,
Something responds deep in our engines
We have all been burned
Will heaven wait all heavenly over the next horizon ?

But look at us now, quit driving,
Some things hurt more much more than cars and girls.
Just look at us now, start counting
What adds up the way it did when we were young ?
Look at us now, quit driving
Some things hurt much more than cars and girls.

Little boy - got a hot rod,
Thinks it makes him some kind of new god
Well this is one race he won’t win!,
’Cos life’s no cruise with a cool chick
Too many folks feeling car sick,
But it never pulls in.
Brucie’s thoughts - pretty streamers
Guess this world needs it’s dreamers
May they never wake up.

But look at us now, quit driving
Some things hurt more much more than cars and girls.
Just look at us now, start counting
What adds up the way it did when we were young ?
Look at us now, quit driving,
Some things hurt much more than cars and girls.
But look at us now, quit driving,
Some things hurt more much more than cars and girls.
Just look at us now, start counting,
What adds up the way it did when we were young ?
Look at us now, quit driving,
Some things hurt much more than cars and girls

Peter Allen - Tenterfield Saddler

"The grandson of George has been all around the world
And lives no special place
Changed his last name and he married a girl with an interesting face
He'd almost forgotten them both because in the life that he leads
There's no where for George and his library
or the son with his gun To belong
except in this song"

Classic Australian song

This may be of interest but I heard the problem was with the Hutchene Estate not INX$. Apparently that is also the reason you can't get re-issues of MAX-Q at the moment.

One of fav lines from a song is Billy Bragg's "Greetings the new brunette"

"How can you lie there and think of England when you don't even know who's in the team."

Classic Bragg.
