There's a ridiculous amount of really good, youngish Aussie bands that are absolutely killing it in the very broad punk/alternative scene at the moment:
The Bennies, Violent Soho, The Smith Street Band, Dune Rats, DZ Deathrays, Ceres, Trophy Eyes, Clowns, In Hearts Wake, Hands Like Houses just to name a few off the top of my head; many of which are breaking through to the point where they get regular airplay on Triple J.

My mate at Collectors Corner Records in Melbourne got me on to them a few years back.

If I remember correctly I discovered them after they stopped playing when getting a Slug Guts album from Missing Link Records. The guy was showing me the bands these members had previously been in and Look!Pond stood out to me.
