Fev vs Bazza

I'll spell it out slowly, so you might be able to understand....

1) We don't have enough room in the salary cap..... Particularly while trying to keep Brian Lake...

2) We don't have the players or draft picks to make Carlton happy with a trade...

3) Barry Hall will come cheaper, in terms of both 1) and 2) above....

4) Fev on-field, can be very hit and miss and doesn't have a team ethic and work hard. Barry works very hard, though is a risk for on-field indiscretions.....

5) We had already committed to take Barry Hall before this opportunity arise...

Enjoy another honourable prelim buddy. You guys will never win a flag. Battlers.

They're too pov to pay his salary.

Doggies settle for mediocrity once again. If they seriously want a flag they should be throwing the kitchen sink at Fev.

See in the AFL, we operate on a system called the salary cap. The Bulldogs will be paying a lot for their FB who will demand a much greater wage, along with numerous other players who this year have renegotiated higher salaries. Now, there are two options that a team can take. They can either settle for somebody inside their salary cap, or they can breach the salary cap.
Being a Carlton supporter, i'm sure I know which option your club would choose, but the Dogs are an honest team, not that they're "too pov"

If you put aside the fact that Carlton will most likely keep Fevola because they won't get a decent trade for him, the Bulldogs wouldn't have him because they can't fit him in their salary cap and his behaviour wouldn't fit in/be accepted at the club.

As for that comment, enjoy watching the Hawks struggle for a spot in the final eight. Mark my words, the Bulldogs will reach the Grand Final in 2010.

Id love that, and we'll knock them off too!!(sorry Aker, i think hes a star)

A Grand Final between the Bulldogs and Geelong I think is most likely. I just can't see St. Kilda getting there again and Collingwood and Adelaide aren't at that level just yet.

Then again, I may be extremely biased. :D

Not really interested in Fev for a few reasons
a. Price tag is out of our range
b. The player they would be most interested in is Lake and most likely our first pick
c. The negative impact he may have on the playing group
I dont see the point in grabbing an enigmatic forward with a history of on and off field problems, who we have to sell our soul to get and may or may not want to be at the club. I'll have Hall thanks.

Both are top key forwards, both are selfish idiots, one is 33 and the other is 29. But at the same time one is worth 700k whilst the other is worth 400k. To be honest, i really don't think either is worth it.

You really have no freaking idea do you?
How would Fev win us a Grand Final when we would have to lose Lake + Everitt, I'd much rather Lake + Everitt + Hall than Fev

Hall is cheaper and Rocket has traded for him and worked with him in the past. As such he represents a realistic opportunity to place the missing jigsaw piece in their forward line and is much more of a know quantity.

Both Hall and Fev can win a game for you on their day. Hall is more of a liability on field whilst Fev is a problem off the ground. A handful for a club either way....

Hall will come relatively cheaply, Swans may haggle for a bit, but basically he's not to going to be too expensive.

In terms of the doggies, I think Barry is a far better fit then FEV. Barry has finals experience, having captained the swans to a premiership. Barry I think would work far better with the current forward line structure of the dogs. Fev expects to be the only focal point of the forward line and sulks every time he doesn't get it lace out. I reckon the Tigers should go for Fev.

I agree with you on Lake, no point giving him up as you try for a seriou run at a flag. Hall and Everitt though wouldn't be as valuable as Fev in a tilt for next year. You guys are right in the window and Fev would take you right up there IMO. Salary cap issues aside you'd be mad choosing Hall over Fev. I guess in the end it's the players choice... keep their salaries and never be a premiership player.

Doesn't matter. They should offload some big pay packets to afford him. Aker would be earning a mint, get rid of him or give him a very small contract. You could fit Fev in easy.

Rubbish.

Fev = ******** and bad influence on club and image

Hall = aggression

Hall is half the player Fev is. Hall's last 2 years were extremely average by anyone's standards. And he won't be any better at the dogs.

Fev = Dog's premiership.
Hall = Another prelim loss.

It just stuns me how your club isn't bending over backwards to get arguably the best FF of the last 5 years into your team. Do you actually want to win a flag?

Which sides premiership chances have increased in the last week? The side who are getting rid of "the best FF of the last 5 years" or the side adding in a premiership winning captain for very little?
