Not a done deal yet boys...Bradshaw may have failed the medical and RiscHi is not keen to go...still lots of water to run under this bridge....

I love it when people from other clubs come and post 'updates' comprising of information that we've been discussing for 3 hours.

We don't still rely on a telegraph system up here. We have access to the same information that the 'civilised states' do. ;)

The failed medical was from some flog who rang SEN's rumour file. Its bunk.

Gotta hand it to Flea29 on the main board: reckons Juddy should apply some pressure! That was gold, pure gold! Well done Flea.

Anyway, maybe that's a reason why Riska doesn't want to come down to Carlton? Apart from being a prick of a club, perhaps the recent history and having Judd as the main man perhaps doesn't sit too well with the guy?

I agree with an earlier poster, if he wants to stay let him. Give them JMac instead if he wants to piss off. I'm not Riska's biggest fan but if his heart is with the Lions, let him work harder and stay.

I'm still realing about losing Braddles as he is one of my favourites but perhaps his best is past him?

The Rischa stuff has shaken my resolve a little.

I heard last night he was fairly open to the idea but it appears he isn't keen at all.

Really hope we can find another way to get the deal done.

That said, lets not get too soppy over the whole thing. It's a professional business and Rischa has certainly allowed his management to leverage the go-home factor in the past to get a bigger salary. His overinflated contract has become problematic.

Fev wont come, Riska wont want to go and Carlton will trade him somewhere else.

Why do you have to keep saying every hour or so that the trade won't happen? Are you mentally preparing yourself or something?

If this trade falls over tomorrow, Carlton will be shitting their pants.

Swinging a whole new trade before 2pm tomorrow afternoon would be a nightmare.

Carlton NEED to do the trade, we don't. Brisbane are well placed. 1pm tomorrow afternoon, we say "Rischitelli has pulled out, Bradshaw and Fev's full salary is all we can do".

If they tell us to **** off, so be it.

Ok. Brisbane are happy. Carlton are happy. Fevola is happy. Bradshaw is happy. Rischitelli is happy. Oh wait. Rischitelli isn't happy Carlton you have to go and trade with someone else now becauuse we don't have anyone else or anyother picks to get the deal done because Rishitelli doesn't want to go:rolleyes: Dumb post by lionfan17 is you ask me. Just my opnion though.

I'm sure I just heard Ch9 say that trades must be completed by noon tomorrow.

Either way, 12noon or 2pm, the timeframe leaves almost no other side in the hunt, I'd suggest. And as you very correctly observe, Carton are in far more need of the deal than us.

The Machiavelli in me might see late development of this minor hickup as a means of pressuring the buggers.

Personally, I'd far rather Macdonald went, wherever, than Rischa.

I'm not sure how much of that is truth versus how much of it is the media feedback loop turning him from not being hugely enthused (which is understandable) to hating the idea. If he hates the idea, why head to Melbourne for physicals/the tour? The only "real" info we have is his manager's words which didn't seem to address Rischi's feelings on the matter.

I've accepted Braddles going, only because he seems to have agreed, (won't be happy seeing him in a blues jumper tho)..

Riska is another story..I hope he tells them NO, I'm not going anywhere!..If he didn't have a say in this damned deal, then hold his head high and say NO.....bugger the lot of you, I'm staying!...You tell em Riska!

Trade someone who wants to go....Its just a meat market of those who turn out to be human beings with feelings and emotions...The powers that be seem to forget that..

Door swings both ways MacMum. Des Headland, Chris Judd, Josh Gibson... for example.

Clubs and players can only be expected to act in their own best interest.

Yep if Riska don't wanna go we should not force him. I don't think we really can anyway.

While the Blues and Lions are working on back-up plans involving other Brisbane players, in case Rischitelli backs out, Matthews doubted that would happen.

"If your club says `We're prepared to let you go' and the new club loves you and says `You're going to be fantastic for us', 99 per cent of players eventually go," he said, noting Rischitelli's Melbourne origins helped.

The seduction of the dark side... :D

I think a good understanding of Rischa's position is when anyone is unexpectedly offered a better job opportunity interstate. The first response is always shock and probably leaning towards a refusal but if the deal is good enough they will accept it and probably end up very happy with new job in the end.
