With the draft approaching, can we keep this thread only for any 'serious' rumors regarding certain players being linked to certain clubs.

- Lisle to Collingwood;
- Trengrove/McKernan to Crows.

I'd be amazed if Lisle goes to the Pies- they will SURELY look at a midfielder first and foremost after losing Burns, Buckley, etc in recent years. Sidebottom or someone like that makes a bit more sense than a KP back which they have plenty of.

It might be a good idea to put up any sources you have for these rumours if you want them taken seriously.

I think Collingwood will almost certainly pick up a midfielder with pick 11 and quite possibly 29, unless perhaps Trengove falls he might be a chance. Hine has said that this year is a strong enough draft to draft for need alone so you'd reckon midfielders will be the go at 11 for us.

Hardly.....

Anyway, I'm sure we'd be able to find a better prospect than Lisle at pick 11. Quite sure.

there has been alot of talk about tom swift to collingwood
with the hearaldsun and inside footy
saying he will go to pies with pick 11
and there is allso whispers about him going to brisbane with pick 7
with voss rating this kid as the best under 16 player he has seen in years
that was 2 years ago and i say with those comments voss will be tempeted to draft this kid
and this storey was featured on channel 10 news

i really hope collingwood gets swift with their first pick or the next best mid. i go to school with jordy lisle and he is predicting to go anywhere around 20 to 30 so if thats the case he might be a chance a collingwood with pick 29. i would love to see him and brown hold FB and CHB for the next 10 years, as well as swift, thomas and pendlebury. i wouldnt use pick 11 on lisle, he is not what we desperatly need, even if he didnt fall through to pick 29 we could pick up someone like sloane, hannebury, heyne, shuey, etc.

If Melbourne take him you might be left with Watts.

Tell you what, WC will be laughing if that happened. Melbourne surely would not be that silly (even though Naituai is one hell of a prospect), surely Watts fills a need more.

Is this a rumour you've heard or are starting? :p
It's no rumour - I have confirmed the souces with 2 people in the media that have been routinely reliable over the years.

West Coast are going tall at selection 2 & the Dees are VERY likely taking Naitanui with Selection 1 - Watts is a very bright kid & has his head screwed on straight & will fit in very well with the Victorian boys at West Coast.

For West Coast it's a decision between Natanui & Watts - clearly the 2 most valuable prospects in the draft & West Coast will be taking the one that the Dees don't pick.

No naming of sources - people start having trust issues which means risk of systemic failure of the drafting news system

The reaction from some Dees supporters is going to be priceless if your sources are correct. :p

I can see us recruiting another defender in Lisle and he will probably be the best KPP prospect come our pick.

Probably depends on how confident we are at getting a gun midfielder at pick 29. If we think we can get Hannebury or Beams at 29 then we may well do this.

I for one am hoping we take the best available mid at both 11 and 29. Think our midfield woes far outweigh our defensive woes at the minute.

But Lisle would complete our spine in 3 years.

Brown
Lisle
Pendlebury/Swan
Cloke
Dawes

But i reckon we throw Anthony down back where he belongs and go mids mids mids

I agree with that if we take Lisle at 11 I would be okay with that because that would just about fill out the Spine and would go with Brown very well.

Those I still think a mid would be better but I would not complain

Really going out on a limb there  Watts or Naitanui, who would've thought!

Having said that, you say it's confirmed then follow up with uncertainty.

Your source sounds full of shit

If Melbourne take Naitanui he will be back in Perth within 3 years. Thats why they won't take him.

Nicko is not originally from Perth and I don't think he has any worries about heading East.

has anyone heard anything about the Hartlett-Hill-Rich situation at Freo for number 3
And then the Rich-Vickery thing at number 4??

i would be happy if we got naitanui..and you're an idiot..stop talking as if you know what his intentions are. We have cale morton who has stated that he is more than happy at melbourne and doesnt want to go anywhere else. rivers, miller, petterd, bell etc are just a few players that have been drafted from other states and signed on with the club because they luv it here.

I have to agree, Nick Nat will be the centre of attention in the West, if he moved East then it would allow him time to develop.

That makes little sense. He is going to be a marketers dream wherever he goes.

Besides, at sides like West Coast and Fremantle, they have 2 fairly decent ruckmen who will still hold the mantle for at least 3 more years allowing Naitanui to nestle under their wing/anchor. He is far more likely to be fast tracked at Melbourne which could stunt his development ala Josh Fraser.

Who knows, but your declaration makes little sense.

If we really did get Watts we would be set for the next 10 years. Pay him watever he wants to stay in the west and we will finally have the best forward line we have ever had - Watts, Kennedy, McKinley, Lecras. In 3 years time it could be one of the best in the AFL...we just need a crumber.
