Think this one is dead now.

One ruck and TDK.

Only change for chopout.

Hope one of our developing rucks in the AFL make it. Until then Pitto still has a role to play on his list regardless of how much some of us like him or not.

But yes, TDK then daylight.

TDK took a huge step forward.
Pitt is better than average depth.

TDK's strength around the stoppage was getting involved in the spread/handball chains which can be a bit all or nothing. To be the dominating player that we know he can be, he needs to add a defensive element to his game.

Pittonet needs to continue to work on his marking & impact inside f50.

Still see 2 rucks as a viable option, especially if the AFL runs with 5 on the bench

And Pitto is a place holder until HOK is ready
There are games during the season where we have to play a bush pig and give TDK a break

Pittonet is that bush pig.
Definitely should've happened in the Nth game.

Pretty much the role I see with him too. Asking TDK to get through 23 plus finals is asking for him to be completely wiped by finals regardless of injuries.

Would play Pittonet against the mongrel rucks of the competition and either rest TDK or play him as a combo player (either forward/back and backup ruck). Some rotation between TDK, Harry and Charlie (all of whom have injury histories) would benefit all three.

Everyone out in the media is bigging up TDKs next contract. I hope to god if we are paying big money he can handle every opponent ruck.

Otherwise his contract should be lower if we have to avoid certain games because he can't handle it. I can't imagine Oscar M being on anywhere near the same money but he is there week in week out and has been for 4 years.

I agree with the sentiment about matchups/resting...i just hate the cost being associated out in the media will a player that still needs nurturing.

IF you want to compare him to Oscar McInerney then here's a simple comparison for you:

Before his age 26 season McInerney had played 56 games.

At the same age Tom has played 78 games and still has another year (he just turned 25 in July) before he reaches the same age McInerney did before Brisbane gave him those 4 seasons of week in, week out football.

The trajectory is similar and fine.

Further, Darcy Fort has been there through this time and there have been games and seasons where Fort has played the role we'll be expecting Pitto to play.

The point is about contract. You missed the KEY point of the post. Riddle me that :)

And my point is that Brisbane didn't think Oscar was ready for that type of regular contact until he was older than TDK is now

We've seen way more from TDK at the same age than what Brisbane did O.

Think the answer is pretty clear now. Cain Ackland is our greatest ever ruck. :coolv1:

TDK and McKay as our ruck combo.

If the AFL extend the bench or opposition are playing 2x decent ruckman then you’d look to bring Pittonet or O’Keeffe in.
