This question is to the comittee of the stars, obviously your club didn't want to play at another teams ground, did the club have a ground penciled in prior to entering the nfl? , and do you have a ground in mind for next year as im sure you guys would rather you own home ground

excuse my ignorance if this question has been answered before havent been following this tread from the start

Mungara would have been a great inclusion to have for this season but he has chosen to stick to his last year at Northcote Park under contract and will hopefully come over for next season.

Mick Edwards was given the coaching role for the 2's but he went to West Footscray to coach their senior side i believe.

We have our home ground in Thornbury (2 Watt St) but it needs to be resurfaced so that it will be fit to play on hopefully for the 2009 season.

Bet you wish you had some of those Rumba U/14 playing for you this weekend. Was a talented little team that won a couple of premierships in row. The good thing is the last game you coached was a premiership. Good luck H

thanks damo. yeah at least i could say that ay. would love to have chris egan, rexy, dt and shan running around for me again. goerge is my vice captain so at least i have 1 of them running around with me.

Even H had a run around the park didn't look like he'd lost much, although his kicking could do with a little practice:thumbsu: good on yah H

Yesterday was a historical day well done boys, but more to the point, our following has been huge well done to the supporters cause that was a fantastic, coming of the ground after our win, never experience anything like it. A big thankyou to our supporters.

Boys big challenge coming up over the next couple of weeks Watsonia in good form, then couple of big one's Round 4 Macleod, Whittlesea, Parkside, both top four! then Mernda at Cramers, then comes the biggest challenge Panton Hill round 8, this will be the biggest in our calendar year, note our jumper sponsors is the Long walk, this game will be changed to Sunday. Fitzroy Stars will be playing a curtain raiser at the G, Richmond take on Essendon and the curtain raiser against Santa Teressa NT @ 4:30pm and then to play Panton Hill on Sunday.

Did I read that correctly? Stars will be playing on the Saturday, and then again the following day, for premiership points?

This is correct, playing saturday afternoon and then sunday, not all players will be playing in that curtain raiser game? I hope.

Our 22 players from the carnival will be given first preference to play that game, that includes some of our NFL players and some who are not...But it will be interesting to see who chooses to play or save themselves.

A one off chance to play on the "G"...., as much as i love my local footy the chance to play on the big stage would be the dream of most of us...:thumbsu::thumbsu:

We are looking at promoting alot of our players, a lot of work has gone into promoting our players so they get an opportunity at the next level, "(Andrew Lovett)", these are put into place down at Fitzroy Stars, even at the VFL level, a lot of doors will start to open.

Stars must say a lot of work needs to done, Well done to macleod played like a well oiled machine, and to your credit stuck to your guns, showed good team discipline, and can frustrate opposition players and put them of their game.

Great win by the Stars on the weekend, it showed alot of character from the boys and the coaching staff, it has been the closest game this season for us so we were absolutly delighted to get over the line. And with some of our players coming back in the side and some more debuting we can only get better:D. Also it was a great debut from Alan Thorpe for the Stars, for most of the game it looked to me that he had 2 players on him but he finished up with a nice bag of 4, Well done mate. Would also like to congratulate Casey Brown, Kealun Brown and Les Bamblett on making the 42 man squad for the Rep side.

Big chance to move up the ladder with the next 2 rounds boys, Panton Hill round 8, Heidelberg West round 9, which should see us surge with epping who have the same teams then top 4 side in Lower Plenty round 10 and epping round 11 @ epping.

There is a division 2 thread you realise, and you don't have to segregate yourself from the rest of the community.

We are aware that there is a Division 2 tread which myself and Walkertobetts regulary post on. This is just another thread for people to soley comment on the Stars and find out how were doing.

Its perfectly fine for clubs to have their own topics. I have renamed this topic to suit. We actually encourage more topics to be made because there is a big lack of them currently.
