Last one at the G was a close one. I'm expecting a little more of the same tbh. Hoping for Clark to have an immediate impact though. Couldn't have a better red and blue debut tbh ;)

But yet you managed to lose to both Port and the Gold Coast... maybe look at it as a way of minimizing the embarrassment for Richmond?*

*yes, we lost to Port too... at least it was in Adelaide.

exactly, lost to both of them, played them both once only, and still managed to finish on top of you (who played them both twice)... walked into that one skipper ;)

it didnt have to turn into a dick measure, i was simply frustrated that the afl likes melbourne, and hates richmond, a lot! i think they are punishing us for the early 90's still. haha good on em... prlcks

I'm a little confused with the NAB Cup... I thought it was the winner of the tri group and the 2 best losers go forward? Why is there a round 2 and 3? How do they judge who makes the final?

They take into account all of the games. 4 points for a win. Top two teams with highest percentage and points after all three rounds play in the Grand Final.

Playing 1st and 3rd from last year is a little rough if you don't mind AFL.

I think they have eradicated the NAB challenge games & now you play firstly a round robin & then 2 more full games the following weeks, the 2 highest ranked teams after 3 weeks play off in the final. It's a slightly improved system

Who cares?

I would have thought it's a near perfect warm-up for us!!

Suppose your right. We all got our hopes after the Round 1 NAB Cup game last year. Thought we were in a for a good year when all we did was beat off Adel and Port in half a game. Be interesting to see how we fair against the big boys, see what kind of difference the new coaches have made.

We also play last and 3rd last from last year, Collingwood and Hawthorn would be a good test in the pre-season, i'd rather play them than just play low side the whole way through.

Dunno how you managed that one, after a getting port and GC twice last year, your going to get GWS twice, port once, and Brisbane/gold coast twice this year.
We missed out on GC twice last year, and Gws twice this year. No equality.

You had better make finals.
Richmond played the two bottom sides once each in 2011 & could'nt beat either!

Hopefully playing port in darwin in round 11, then the bye in round 12, then GWS in round 13. That would be ideal

How about Collingwood in Round 11, Port in Round 12 and GWS in Round 13? As much fatigue as there is travelling up to Darwin, GWS will be lucky to win a game next year, let alone one interstate against a home team that should be at least around the mark.

Byes are between rounds 11-13 with ours on round 12 apparently, but I guess we'll find out soon!

Essendon played 1st and 2nd (twice) for their NAB Cup run last year (including the final) and they nearly won the whole thing. Who says we can't do what Essendon pulled off even though the games are at Etihad? :thumbsu:

well the way i see it is i get to watch the dees play live on fox sports for 3 weeks instead of getting knocked out 1st week then relying on reports on bigfooty and demonland for the remaining games its a good format i reakon, and by the time the nab cup rolls around i will need a footy fix before i go insane.

Lol don't get me wrong I'm glad he's a dee instead of Failmantle but come game time the gloves are off :D

Looks like we can't get away from each other with us in the NAB cup :D
