Flemington "Super Saturday" 8/3

God, I hope all you people who are potting Weekend Hussler and are backing other things to beat it really lay out some money on Saturday. The more you guys bet the better the odds I'll get on the Hussler.

Any mug can back a $2 favourite...The thrill of the chase is backing the thing at odds and it getting up. It becomes more not a about making money, but bragging to your mates....;)

Lay all DAY!!!

I like Gamble Me in the 2nd

Playwright is a safe each way bet

Like the hussler but to short for me and i think the weight is a little concern considering he is a 3 yr old

Backed Princess Coup last start but have started to leaning towards Sirmione in the cup. It was Princess Coup's race last start but over further and at Flemington i just think Sirmione will beat her this time.

Good Luck

after further study.....

I'll be throwing an all-up on and a quaddie...

All-up: Zarita, Coniston Gem, Weekend Hussler, Sirmione, Sonic Quest.... using the odds in the Hun, approx div of $173.40 for every dollar.

Quaddie:
Dance Hero, WH, Bon Hoffa, Stanzout, Miss Judgement
Playwright, Light Fantastic, Pillar of Hercules
Sirmione, Princess Coup, MF, Rubiscent
Sonic Quest, Orange County.... $60 for 50%

Top Day :D

My boy, Leica Falcon, back in the last...can't wait to see him in action again, hope all goes well. Doubt it can win, as Sonic Quest is a pretty srue thing I think.

My picks

Race 1 - Estee...Simply too good first up and is only better suited here with a bit more fitness. Starfish a worry...

Race 2 - Tat Tat De Lago and Gamble Me...I can't split them. Gamble Me a 100% record second up and a good performance last week once he got running in the straight and Tat Tat De Lago has simply never let me down, will try and pick awinner tomorrow.

Race 3 - Burgeis....Needed more distance in the Blue Diamond and he's got it here. Can't see anything beating it over 1400 here, Zarpurple is a good place bet if at odds.

Race 4 - Arapharo Miss...Don't like Childs on Zarita, he ****s up Illinois Girl a lot and killed Zarita @ the Oaks. Worst Jockey around imo. Arapharo Miss fit and raring to go for this one, should win....and at good odds.

Race 5 - Catechuchu.....Miss Gundowring vs. Coniston Gem vs, Catechuchu :)

Race 6 - Bon Hoffa....Really, Hussler should win..but @ $1.3 or whatever his showing....much point? Hoffa is the one who can beat him.

Race 7- Light Fantastic...Could be anything this horse, really like the look of it. IMO more of a sure thing than the hussler.

Race 8 - Miss Finland - Got the hack Arnold off her and Williams back. Think that it is set for this one, was impressive last week on the way home down the straight.

Race 9 - Sonic Quest....Go Leica Falcon!!!

Sensational day of racing. :thumbsu: :thumbsu:
Sires:
Von Costa De Hero. Liked his run in the Blue Diamond Prelude, ran on well for 4th when nothing made ground in that race.

I agree, would have been an interesting factor in the Diamond the way it was run....they may reap the benefits here.

I cant see anything but P Coup or Sirmione winning, they were too good in the Spring & havent gone backwards, unlike a few others.
Will stick with PC on the hard track.

Keen on Gotta Have Heart in the last, only on pacer thats any good, nothing went right last time, fave's drawn the carpark & will be $2.5.

Gotta love these days

seth

I dont think you can run Hussler down, the way he finishes off races. To beat him you need to be a strong on pacer or frontrunner I feel who can serve it up to him, i.e Gold Edition and make him chase and chase.

Still very much undecided how Ill go besides the big 3 races.

R1 - Pass
R2 - Tan Tat De Lago
R3 - Burgeis
R4 - Zarita, Musidora (Place)
R5 - Catechuchu
R6 - Magnus (Value runner only 1.5L of WH last start and 2.5kg swing)
R7 - Playwright
R8 - Princess Coup
R9 - Sonic Quest

Look out for Snippers Bullet in the Sydney feature, unbeaten 2nd up and 2 from 3 over 1400m. Last start second up chased down Gold Edition in the Stradbroke (1400m). Will be extra pace on compared to last start where Paratroopers walked in front. $7 atm

Race 1 - Contessa Mia
Race 2 - Pins on Parade
Race 3 - Okaylah
Race 4 - Zarita
Race 5 - Banc De Fortune
Race 6 - Weekend Hussler
Race 7 - Sound Journey
Race 8 - Miss Finland
Race 9 - Sonic Quest

And let's not forget the old boy on Monday, special!!

Im really liking Gottahaveheart now in the last, with the weight pull will be very hard to catch from the inside gate. Easily accounted for Amerryking in the Sandown Stakes, whilst Sonic Quest only just beat home Amerryking Caulfield Cup day this dist. The weights all round will be in line with this formline pretty much. Im right off the other two I mentioned earlier.

The 3Y0 fillies race has got me rattled - perhaps looking too hard and Zarita is the one? Arapaho Miss will appreciate being back at the long straight you would think.

Race 1 - I've heard that Starfish will win so I'd be fool not to take it
Race 2 - Victory Chant
Race 3 - Von Costa de Hero
Race 4 - Queen of Queens each way (just for value -$13 for a horse coming off 4 straight)
Race 5 - Like it is each way ($34 - third start this prep - good record with a few runs under her belt and usually pulls out a big run without prior notice)
Race 6 - Weekend Hussler
Race 7 - Light Fantastic
Race 8 - Princess Coup
Race 9 - Valedictum each way ($21 - can't go past this for a horse that would have won the Emirates with clear running. His last run can be discounted, dumb ride from Winks, and he gets sacked for this)

I have changed my tune, Weekend Hussler should win well. Nothing in the field has anything near it's class. The ONLY problem will be if it gets trapped on the fence and can't get out, I am expecting the pack to break up a bit once it gets rolling and find a hole like it did over the 1200m at Flemington last time.

The only difference hes not against the cats like he was that day

eskimo queen anyone?
Ist up last prep same track and distance she ran 2nd behind devil moon.
No devil moons in this race think she will sprint very well fresh $7.50 atm

Race 1 - Chamatry
Race 2 - Victory Chant
Race 3 - Minnesota Shark
Race 4 - Arapaho Miss
Race 5 - Eskimo Queen
Race 6 - Weekend Hussler
Race 7 - Largo Lad
Race 8 - Fiumicino
Race 9 - Gotta Have Heart

Just off topic, anyone else think that Fiumicino is this years Efficient?? He was the early fav. for the MC before EI, his two runs back this prep have been eye catching. The big open track at HQ suits him down to the ground. Hope he runs a big one today.

Also good to hear Mick Price say that Pompeii Ruler is back in work and looks a treat, could run in a group 1 at the end of autumn.

Very confident that Sonic Quest can get the chocolates in the last. $2.70 on Sportsbet and $3.70 very early on the tote.
There are some people talking up the chances of Orange County and Gotta Have Heart(Price gave it a wrap this morning, saying it could well "lead them a merry dance").
Do most people think SQ will pay more than $2.70 on the tote??? Thinking about going pretty large on this one, if I have anything left by then....
