This is pathetic, should be allowed to watch his kid. Just make it he can't be at the huddle etc unless the kid is injured.

Got to be some common sense.

It hasn't been established that this actually happened has it? Also, it was only for a practice match at Essendon training facilities. He can go normally, just not when the game is there is my understanding of it.

Third hand reporting of something Mathew Lloyd is reported to have said. With some considerable Chinese Whispers changes to the content.

As was suggested early in the thread who banned him?

Was it a club/afl official who said you better not come we don't want any issues.

Or did he contact ASADA to explain the situation and ask for a specific ruling for and they said no you cant go the training ground under any circumstances?

Yes. If he ever wants to be employed in a WADA sanctioned sport, the ban matters.

Yup and this is Important to him, he coaches tennis can't do that ATM. Also applied for an assistant coaching role a EFC. Just because he retired from playing does not mean it has no impact.

Of all involved he should have known better.I have the same sympathy as the classic thread on the North board.

Its his kid, let him watch him play. What's ASADA going to do if he shows up and watches from his car anyway? Increase his ban?
Yes. I raised the example of driving whilst disqualified as a parellel. You might drive to pick up your kid from school and not breach any road rules - but you're disqualified - and if you drive your disqualification period is longer. Harsh? Absolutely. Logical because otherwise the punishment is a wet lettuce and overly complicated to enforce otherwise? - yep

I'd be pretty disappointed, if I was an Essendon supporter, that none of the players that were considered leaders of the group didn't find it necessary to raise concerns when this program was being unveiled to them. If players like Watson, McVeigh, Fletcher, Stanton and whoever their AFLPA rep was at the time had taken their responsibilities more seriously, maybe this whole thing could have been stopped before it started.

Not a good look if he was there, there is another 40 odd players on the field,
If you can't do the time.....

No sympathy

Agreed. Should have used common sense before being used as a pin cushion. Astute observation.

No

Rules are f...en rules ....sorry that's the price you pay

It's for one year .....suck it up

No room for sentiment in rules ......sorry I'm bullish on this ....

The old reply to random post saying whatever you feel style

I'll make it clearer for you

Rules state he's not allowed to ......I don't make the rules

But he must follow them.........ironically the reason Essendon are in this mess is because they didn't follow the rules

m80 I get it. It's fine.
