From Towsnville to Cloncurry 12 people have gone missing or been murdered since 1970. Is it the work of one lonely thrill killer or just a good spot for a days murder?

The latest missing person Jan 1 2018

1970 sisters Judith and Susan Mackay r*ped and killed near Anthill Plains Creek the same place as
1982 Tony Jones was hitchiking and disappeared. He has never been found.
1972 friends Robin Hoinville-Bartram and Anita Cunningham disappeared only for Robins body was found with a shot to the back of the head under a rail bridge near Charters Towers
1975 Catherine Graham was r*ped and murdered near Anthill Creek and her head bashed in by a rock
1978 Karen Edwards, Gordon Twaddle and Timothy Thompson were found shot in the head near Mt Isa, about 250km west of Julia Creek

Or is it seemingly a beat up and someone has confessed? The gap between 1982 and 2018 is a stretch. Mr Penno-Tompsett is alleged to have been upset and agitated prior to going missing.

In 2014, jailed killer Andy Albury allegedly confessed in prison to a killing spree along the highway between 1970 and 1980. He was arrested and jailed in 1983 for the murder and mutilation of another woman and no further murders or disappearances have occurred since

Alcohol his choice of poison for being so stupid. Under the influence.

And the reason - to provoke sheer terror in his fellow man.
People would be in fear of their lives, thinking that they could be the next person to be killed.

Police double reward for Tony Jones murder conviction. Also indemnity from prosecution for accomplice. Letter revealed sent in 1983 with possible body location but that was searched extensively.

Places you right in the twisted mind of a sicko, doesn’t it?

“Chappy I like you”

Thought that was a great line.

“For the term of his natural life.”

An even better one.
Yes, I like “For the term of his natural life.” best. Nice big stamp on his file "Never to be released" would be good. Whoops, it's the 21C, it will be an alert on an IT system. How reassuring!
He is a classic, out of the movies Psycho Killer (Qu'est-ce que c'est?)
Notice the complete lack of empathy. He's seems to have schizophreniform symptoms (voice telling him to do stuff etc) but the author seems to suggests the psyches think it's a bit of an act. They could be right, because he seems a bit too organised, sadistic and controlling. Interesting.
