Have you got any stories of meeting footy players and they where just really rude to you and are absolute d***heads??

Or where you've met a footballer and they've been really nice?

I remember a few years back when Scott Wynd was playing and all these kids where waiting outside the changeroom to get autographs and I saw him sneaking out the backdoor.

My nicest encounter with a player was with Mathew Lappin and he got on the Tram i was on and sat next to me, we talked for ages. Really nice bloke.

All the footy players I've met have been top blokes, real n ice guys.
One of the best was Jason Blake, saw me standing at training waiting for a friend and just came over and had a good chat to me, real class effort.

I chatted with Brownlow Medalist Neil Roberts at the opening of the St Kilda heritage museum for several minutes without twigging as to who he was :)o so embaressed!), but a really friendly man.

Nathan Burke has a good sense of humour, and so does Grant Thomas. Kossi is very down to earth as well. Lenny Hayes really has his head on strait as well.

One of the best experiences I've had, though, was giving a show of support to Troy Schwarze after the Kangaroos game. Really told him most fans hated the Wizard Cup reaction and I was so glad he was doing well. A week later, he was a hero to all.

Never hads a negative experience speaking to footy players.

Best blokes I've come across would be Heath Scotland, Scotty Burns, Tarkyn Lockyer and Josh Fraser.

Worst by far was Jason McCartney. Pre-Bali, but was just plain arrogant and rude.

Had a great chat with Heath Scotland at the Pies training session up on the Gold Coast last year when the Pies headed north during the finals series.

Really top bloke. Tears my heart out that he is now in a filth jumper.

I gotta say i met aaron hammil a few years back and he was pretty rude, i would have been about 15 or 16 and was at that age where if you see a footballer you just wanna get a pic with them, so i went and asked him and it was such an effort for him to stand there and have a pic, it may have been a one off for him, for all i know he prob a very nice guy, but it was the 1st time id seen him and yeah that has put me off him now.

Of course im gonna say all the bulldog boys are very nice, thats cause i see them lots, most of them will sign things for ya and have a little chat, but yeah ive seen them sneak out the back door when they knew there were fans waiting outside the club rooms at the whitten oval.

But overall i have to say nathan brown and mitch hahn are the nicest footballers ive met, they always have time for you, to have a chat or to sign things, and they make an effort to say hi to everyone.

Met Ryan Fitzgerald and Matty Bode at a Work-Family day in 2002. They weren't rude... they were nice blokes who had a chat and kicked the footy with us for about 4-5 hours.

Because it was also a family-work day in the park, got free icecreams, drinks and food etc, met cool blokes and Geelong actually won! How often does that happen (unless it happened to someone either this Sunday or last Sunday)?

byron picket is often (a hell of a lot) in the pokie room at the exeter pub (the one in exeter on semaphore rd) he seems an ok bloke.
might have a pokie problem though.
ive been around mark bickley a few times also he comes across to me as a phoney sort of fella.

I met hammill in his Carlton days, Can't remember it really we only had a brief chat and i got a photo with him. But he seemed pretty nice.

Met most of the Demon players.

Haven't come across any rude ones, but Robbo and Bruce are in love with themselves.

Joel Campbell is weird.

Yze and Johnstone are both drongos. :p

Nicest I've met have been Mark Jamar, Colin Sylvia, Chris A Johnson and Brad Miller.

Ah i forgot.

Paul Licuria. A real class act. A champion bloke. One of the most hospitable players to fans I have ever seen. Doesn't leave untill every signature is signed and always willing to chat.

He must have been having an off day the day you met him, because he is constantly surrounded by supporters at training and he spends alot of time doinf autographs and pictures, and seems happy to do so.

Not defending him just becuse he plays for my club, by the way, in case anyone was thinking it. ;)

Also with all the crap Acker gets. He is one of the nicest footy players your likely too meet so down to earth and funny. I don't understand why people give him so much............... Sure he speaks his mind. But thats whats so good about him. lol hes a star.

Props to Jason Akermanis.

kane johnson is a rude prick, seen him @ robarta & qbar... not impressed.

however both times he was with richo, and richo was great!!

jason blake, awesome.
steven baker, good blokes as well.

stephen powell, not a fan.

havent met any rude melbourne players.
seen schwarz @ wild bils, was a very happy to have a long chat.
and tj @ thesandy also was very happy to have a chat.

chris tarrant a sleaze, seen him @ revolver.

david spriggs a great bloke as is cameron bruce and leigh fisher but what do u expect from people in beaumaris?? ;)

Peter Matera is a dik, thats hard for me to say, him being one of the best eagles players eva.

Troy Cook is a champ, and i met eddie in melbourne, he seemed pretty cool even though he is a dik on TV.

When I was in grade four Allen Jakovich came to our school for a footy clinic and he was a complete **** to us. Then that week he came back into the side, started kicking goals like it was going out of fashion and is still my favourite player of all time :D

I've said it before and I'll say it again - i'll have Osama Bin Laden playing for us if he can rack up 30 possessions and kick five goals a week.

Alan Didak = ****er.
If only he played as well as he thought he was. Jason Cloke is a good bloke, seen him out a few times. Always willing to have a chat.

But Didak is an arrogant prick.

I suppose everyone has a bad day, but in his defence- all my experiences have been excellent. Willing to have a chat & often has a line of kids to interact with & does it well.

Have met heaps of footballers from most teams & overwhelmingly I've found them all to be good blokes.

The only bad experience I had was with Josh Francou, just arrogant & rude, they're human & can have bad days I guess.

Brent Reilly, Scott Welsh, Peter Vardy, Jason McCartney, Nigel Smart and Kane Johnson are the biggest pr*cks I've come across.

Nicest would be Ryan Fitzgerald, Tyson Edwards, Mark Bickley, Aidan Parker, Fergus Watts and surprisingly...Wayne Carey.
