It's gotta be Pendles, although his form prior to Anzac Day wasn't great we are going to talk about him as a legend in the future. His poise, balance, ability to evade tackles all come from that footy supercomputer in his head. Next in line IMO believe it or not is Leon Davis just slightly ahead of Dale Thomas. Didak is capable of brilliance very much in the Daicos mould but I'm not convinced that it is because of a footy brain. I think his brilliance would show out in many sports. Keep watching Leroy tho' this kid may really outshine most in the comp. if his progress continues at it's current rate.

Didak may be the player with the most class at the pies... but IMO the heater has by far the best footy brain, you could count the mistakes he has made during his career on one hand...

However Peddles could overtake him in the next couples of year (not quite there yet though)

If Didak had the footy brain people on here seem to think he’d be the best player we’ve seen at Collingwood in a very long time. Put Buckley’s head on Didak and he’s the best small/medium player ever. I think he is about as important to us now as anyone on the list but it isn’t because he has footy smarts. He’d get 35 possessions a game if he had footy smarts. A footy brain isn’t the bloke with the best skills. I know Commetti said he has smart feet but that isn’t where brains are really kept people!

In what area can you pin point of O'Bree's game... that shows he has a better footy brain then Didak?
Reads the taps from either ruckman ours or theirs better than anyone else in our side.

Didak will hit a target from anywhere and always choose the best not the most obvisous/easiest. But being able to read where the ball will go in a stoppage like Obi does is something not teachable.

I woudl say the smartest footy brain in the side is a tie between Didak/medhurst/pendlebury/H.shaw though

Swanny for mine.

He isn't the most athletic or skilled bloke on the list but knows where to run to, when to run and can read the play beautifully.

The fact he racks up the touches illustrates that he 'knows' the game - a natural footballer.

He’s slow, lacks strength and doesn’t possess much skill but he gets a lot of the ball, even in tight, because he works out where it will go. I remember Leon being interviewed after the first game against Richmond last year. He was asked about a piece of play where he sharked a ruck contest and slotted a good goal. They asked about reading the play and he said Shane O’Bree told him where to go. He just did what he was told. Shane O’Bree is a bit like Scott Burns without the toughness. Burns also has a very good footy brian.

No one will ever read a ball like Daicos though. That bloke could tell which part of the ball would hit the ground and which way it would bounce. Then he could back that up with a kick that controlled the same 2 things. I used to wonder what sort of remarkable player Daicos would be if he had Millane’s attitude and demeaner.

Last year I would've gone with James Clement. Easily one of the cleverest players I've seen. I'm happy to see that there's a little bit of Clement already showing in Nathan Brown.

In terms of this year's squad, I would say Didak. He always makes clever use of his body and has an amazing ability to sum up situations incredibly well.

Well When he was Drafted, he was compared to Jimmy:)

Shaw and Didak for me... .

Didak has good footwork and kicks intelligently.

Shaw has exceptional positional sense and he places his kicks so very well.
