Ex-footy players seeking media gigs must pick their battles wisely.
If you're shrewed and articulate without being too confrontational, go into the match side of things - this is where Luke Darcy shines. Michael Voss has been excellent hitherto although *that* article suggets he's looking to be a little more than a bystander. Be great to have Vossy getting stuck in.
If you're a larrikan, do TFS. Enough said.
If you're boring/subtle, go to ABC. Enough said.
If you're prepared to have a swing, MMM (in a bloke-ish style)/Footy Classified (debate-stye), works best.
If you can't string a proper sentence together, lay bricks or pull beers - the media isn't for these types. Olarenshaw should have stuck to player management or whatever else it is he does.

Archer was 100% correct on his calling out Hutchy! He was trying to drum up contreversy where there was none.
The coaching contract issue is so lame its not funny. Like the Hawks aren't going to off him a contract! But the real kill on this issue is that Hutchy and the rest of the media banged this drum two years ago and the Hawks and AC didn't give a toss and did what they said they were going to do all a long! So not only is this a non issue but its a non issue from two years ago!

Does anyone else get annoyed with Glenn Archer's deplorable performances on the show? He isnt a media man and it is becoming embarrassingly evident as the weeks pass by. Great bloke, terrible media personality.

I think criticism of Archer states more about a particular poster than the man himself.
If you rate gossip highly, then Archer is obviously not your man. If you rate straight forward opinion on footy related matters, then he is one of the best.
He is probably not best suited to a tabloid style program like Footy Classified.

Great call on Gary. Did you notice that when he was talking about Grant Thomas, he had ago at him not naming names of people saying things about melbourne players and then when he was talking about sprolling he said some players, but never named them! Hypercritical!

Archer is a top bloke but he has taken over the HOT seat vacated by the unpredictable Carey who just about made the show last year.

I completely agree, in fact I think I pointed that out. You obviously rate gossip highly.
Arch is much better suited to serious football discussion, not playing Gerry Gee to a fool like Hutchison.
