now final question - for friday night venue after the footy, where to go?

The Heaven/Apple/HQ/Stag/Sugar have all been floated as possible ideas?

heard theres a bit of young crowd at HQ not that theres anything wrong with that.
and according to the blokes on here - stay away from apple.

Heaven and HQ are similar to Red Square. Shite.

I don't mind Apple myself, but I only go there on Thursdays so maybe it's different then.

Fridays at the Duke (currie street) aren't bad. I haven't been out on a friday in a while seeing as I play footy on saturdays a couple of hours from adelaide so I need to be fresh for the drive. But when I did, Swish was always the go, given I'm a 90's kid and grew up with the tunes.

London Tav (on North terrace) is one of my favourite spots, that is usually half decent. 5 dollar jagerbombs on saturday nights.

Heaven and HQ attract that whole teeny bopper crowd thing. That and asians (not being racist but its the demographic for some reason). Stay out of the Cranker (Crown and Anchor) unless your into goths and freaks and expensive drinks and associated music all at the same time.

Austral isnt bad for a drink, nor the Exeter (both on rundle st) and someone else has already mentioned the elpephant - although I recommend the Griffens head as my personal favorite. PJ Obriens is expensive, and not as irish as it likes to think. The Londern tavern (nth tce) isnt a bad place to hang out.

Also forgot to mention the Dog and Duck on Hindley should be a no fly zone for all but the most desperate.

If you dont mind my asking, did you book privately or through a touring company like footytrips?

Yeah- if it comes to late at night and you're hanging for a root, no matter the quality, go the Dog & Duck.

Thoughts on venue for a footy trip in Sydney??

not sure there's too many places on a Sat night that will let 25 guys in, even with a guest list

I never said that! Apple is a good spot if money isn't an issue, 15 bucks entry in the only downer. Other than that, you can't go wrong. Also, avoid Dog and Duck, another hole. As I said before, North Adelaide pubs would be the way I go.

Oh, and either Shots (Hindmarsh Square) or The Little Pub on Hindley are good for cheap as drinks around midnight, especially anything vodka related.

its a place stupidly called The Motel Adjacent Casino. It is in fact, not adjacent the casino, but 40m up the street.

Might have to check it out some time.

Adelaide is a good place for footy cos, big group of guys can offen get everywhere, Being from Adelaide we are spending a little more and off to Bali.

So any idea on rules and games during the trip, We have a leaders jersey which everyone votes 3,2,1 for at breakfast and a worst on which u have some punishments. The only rule we have atm in 1 beer before 11 or 11 before 1.

Any other ideas?
