Throw this mfer in the volcano

There was a way once, but we can't anymore, and to make it worse, our society frantically engages in finding excuses for animals that molest, rape and murder by referencing 'drugs, mental health, poor upbringing' etc and using terms such as 'manifestly excessive'.

We've gone soft by degrees. The judicial process becomes one of excusing the perp, pursuing rehabilitation and re-integration, with too often too little regard to the victim.

A dog bites and we put it down. We don't tolerate that behaviour. Yet a human being, with has full recognition of right and wrong and complete freedom of choice, who DELIBERATELY decides to molest, rape or murder someone is given sympathy, a court room full of excuses, and at worst a bed, a roof and 3 square meals a day at taxpayer's expense??!

It staggers me that I can commit such crimes and destroy not only their lives but those of their parents and siblings and then have the legal capacity to plead such things as 'drugs, mental health and manifestly excessive'?!

Get outta here.

No doubt there are some who have legitimate claim to those excuses, but those excuses are a rort for far too many now.

We've lost the ability and / or willingness to recognise simple evil and punish it accordingly.

Yeah. I'm of the opinion that a system of rehabilitation is probably the go for ~90-95% of serious crimes... the remaining 5-10% should be remedied with the volcano.

But way too often the justice systems of so called progressive countries are way too lax. Take for example the Dutch Volleyball player at the Olympics who sexually abused a 12 year old and was sentenced to 4 years in prison of which he served all of 12 months, then had the self importance to cry for himself after he was booed at the Olympics.
If he had've been convicted of that crime in the US he likely would've gone to jail for 40 years.
If he had've done it in Australia he probably would've had his name barred from being reported on in the press.

Agreed.

There's a guy in the States who just got released after 24yrs for a murder he says he didn't commit, and 4 weeks later he killed someone else, with witnesses saying he also confessed to the original murder.

Trying reconciling his 'rehabilitation' with the family of his latest victim.

It's a shame we don't have volcanoes in Australia

Case in point:

Dinush Kurera has just been sentenced to 37 years, with a minimum of 30.

Prosecutors called for a life sentence, but the Judge said the crime wasn't 'grave enough' to warrant it.

The guy hacked his wife to death with an axe and a knife in front of his kids, and attacked his son with the axe when he attempted to intervene, but yeah......not 'grave enough'.

What???

Maybe the judge meant, not enough graves.

How many would they want??

The judge described it as 'brutal' - she had 35 separate injuries and he only paused the attack to hit his teenage son twice with the axe. He also threatened to kill his kids and burn the house down if they called for help.

But yeah, it wasn't a serious enough crime to warrant a life sentence.......

It demonstrates everything that is wrong with our judicial system.

Definitely, bet it would be grave enough if was his daughter & grandson.

Absolutely.

Can you imagine the trauma those kids will have to live with - and to get this back OT - the kids / parents who have been affected by this pedophile?!

It's incomprehensible.

What will it take for our society to say enough is enough, and protect our women and kids as it should?

A shocker here from QLD Police related to this case.

Why am I not surprised to see a Church involved in pursuing a whistleblower about CSA and potentially harbouring a prolific CSA predator? They have a lot to answer for in this situation as well.

I mean technically we do have volcanoes, they are just all dormant.
