Be interesting to see if Mercedes will try different strategies to undercut Ricciardo tomorrow.
Pretty much everyone has said if its dry, its a 1 stop race. At this stage all the drivers will be coming into the pits before Daniel, but the time gap between super softs and ultra softs appears to be very little.
If Dan gets off the line clean, and is leading out of Turn 1, it would take a serious driver error to lose the race.

Hopefully its dry, Dan gets away first and looks after the tires, backing up the field if need be. Then as soon as a contender blinks and pits, put the hammer down while they deal with traffic.

That lap was immense, he shouldn't be beaten tomorrow

We've all seen Webber screw up enough pole positions over the years to know not to take this for granted. It may be a short run down to the first corner but Ricciardo is prone to dodgy starts too.

Most excited I've been for an F1 race in a long time though, I can't wait.

Inb4 red bull put Dan on 3 stopper to miss podium.

Seriously though, amazing lap by Dan. Wish i could be in Monaco tomorrow. I'll be in Rome instead. Mistimed my holiday.
Just quietly, Rome to Monte-Carlo is only slightly longer than the Perth-Kalgoorlie drive...

me too finally a race on fta- problem i have is the chili peppers interview is on tonight on seven at the same time

Would Daniel's race be compromised if there's an early safety car and everyone pits on supersoft tires?
Depends on where they squirt out in the order.

It's going to rain though.

They'll probably start on wets anyway. But it was a bold bit of strategy by RBR to try it.

If it's a safety car start it will definitely benefit Ricciardo. No need to worry about first lap shenanigans and he's a fairly competent wet weather driver.
