Forward pressure or a hammering

I hope the focus continues to be applying forward pressure like we did against Port. It gave our backmen some relief. If we don't continue this, then Geelong will smash us.

Pressure pressure pressure the ball carrier, no coralling....bloody tackle the varmits, tackle, tackle and tackle some more.

Make the Cats feel like they've been in a game.

This is dead right!
We are nothing without pressure at this point.
We've got to pressure them to death AND convert our opportunities.
Thomas and Wright must finish and there must be more senior contributions on the scoreboard.
Kids won't cut it against the Cats
If we can keep the pressure up and kick straight ,we are every chance but one soft quarter will see us torn apart.

They should go out there wanting to get at least 4 tackles per player and try and break 100 tackles. That is the kind of intensity that needs to be on show.

If we play like we did againts Port we will deffinatly challenge.
sorry i dont agree.. i think we were rather poor against port.... its just they are a train wreck...... if we play like we did against port we will get done by about 8 goals..... must step it up!!!
in relation to forward pressure... it cost us the game against richmond... among other things ofcourse...

We weren't poor, we brought in a lot of run and we looked a lot better. I think the problem was we got out to a comfortable lead early and didn't put the foot on the throat.

In terms of goal kicking, we went into the pockets way too much, we missed a lot of goal because the conversion rate from acute angles is not good. We needed to come into the corridor in front of goal, a lot of guys had shots on goal that were very low probability of snagging. Confidence can improve on that, guys need to look up and hit up a target in better position.

We do need to be a lot cleaner and a lot smarter but last week was the natural stepping stone from being poor to improving, unfortunately, we need to improve a lot more to beat Geelong, and hopefully they are not as switched on as they normally are.

More tackling from everyone would be great with Andrew Swallow leading the way in most games and some more shepherds too like when Leigh Adams,Speight did for Boomer when he kicked his goal on the run.

To counter forward pressure, we aim for the boundary. this way we automatically negate 2 thirds of the opp forward pressure. The worst result is a throw in hence forcing the opp to shift their players backwards.

Crocker mentioned on SEN yesterday that the coaching staff were most pleased with the fact our players had "got up and in the faces of the Port players, cutting down time and space". More of that, against a far tougher opposition this week, will do nicely.

Agree, even if we lose we wan't them to look under pressure and crap at stages. Only tackle pressure will allow this. The line is 48.5 which is a little aggregious, hopefully BON shows it to all the gambling addicts on the list.

I did lulz at that TN (albeit a little uncomfortably as I tried to think who we may have on the list who's gripped by the lure of the punt).

After the cocktail party I went down to the Casino and saw a few of the boys having flutters.
